Professional Losers League (PLL): Day 5

1st Kloppixd Extremely consistent: 48, 59, 61, 47, 46. In the lead by just 2 points, despite never having a huge single-day spike.
2nd Soranotaka Wildly inconsistent but dangerous. 71, 57, 23, 34, then a massive 74-point. Came within 2 points of lead.
3rd papa123 Strongest early performer: 56, 67, 63, 45, 22. Started hot but slowed toward the finish. Only 8 points behind 1st.

JohnFin Strongest early performer: 56, 67, 63, 45, 22. Started hot but slowed toward the finish. Only 8 points behind 1st.
ContaminatedIce Opened with a huge 72, then hit 0 the next day and has had a steady 19, 24, 24.
DRAGO_DARK Started reasonably well but collapsed late: 35, 44, 24, 4, 2.
CheekiCreepy Strange trajectory—0, 14, 0, 36, 38. Finished strongly.
luc3iann Consistent early production, followed by a zero on Aug 27 and a modest recovery.

Lower field: AlWessJess 44, Asadecubo 36, INUK 32, Indaybadidai 22, Gaddan 10, shubham3 9,

The top three were extremely close: only 8 points separated 1st from 3rd. The biggest twist was Soranotaka's 74 point gain. Just 3 more points would've put him in the Lead... I guess consistency beat random spikes in the in this round. Kloppixd stayed remarkably consistent throughout, while Soranotaka had higher peaks but more fluctuations.

Overall, the PLL produced exactly what you'd want from a competition market: a very close top-end race, contrasting player trajectories, and enough unpredictability to make the betting side interesting

Professional Losers League (PLL): Day 3

Two days are now complete in the Professional Losers League, and our leaderboard has already received a fairly serious rearrangement.

Yesterdays runner-up, Soranotaka, has taken over the lead.

After adding another 57 lost attacks to yesterdays 71, Soranotaka now sits on 128.

But there is very little breathing room at the top.

papa123 produced the biggest number of Day 2 with an impressive 67 losses, taking the total from 56 to 123.

Which, of course, raises an important question.

Was 123 losses always the plan for someone named papa123?

And if this continues, should we expect to see papa666 on the leaderboard tomorrow?

Either way, that leaves just five attacks separating first and second place.

And apparently Kloppixd has also decided that this whole losing business deserves to be taken seriously. After 48 on Day 1, another 59 losses brings Kloppixd to 107 and third place.

So after two days, we already have three players above 100 lost attacks.

This may be the only competition in Torn where reaching triple digits is both an achievement and something you probably don't want to explain without context.

DRAGO_DARK also had a strong second day, adding 44 to reach 79, moving into fourth place.

And then we come to yesterdays leader.
ContaminatedIce opened the tournament with a remarkable 72 losses in a single day.

On Day 2?

Zero.

That means ContaminatedIce remains on 72 and drops from first to fifth.

We don't know whether this was strategy, real life interfering, or simply a well-earned day off from losing — but it demonstrates just how quickly things can change in PLL.

Further down, luc3iann and AlWessJess are now tied on 44.

AlWessJess deserves a small award for consistency after producing an extremely neat 22-22, while luc3iann is almost as symmetrical at 23-21.

Meanwhile, Asadecubo has accelerated from 10 losses on Day 1 to 25 on Day 2, bringing the total to 35.

And one of the biggest wake-ups of the day came from INUK.

After recording zero on Day 1, INUK suddenly produced 32 losses on Day 2.

Apparently Day 1 was just the warm-up.

CheekiCreepy also joined the competition properly with 14 losses, drawing level with Indaybadidai, who has delivered perhaps the most beautifully balanced performance so far: 7-7.

And what about our former betting favorite, JohnFin?

Yesterday we learned that JohnFin had unexpectedly been pulled into a war, creating the slightly awkward situation where his PLL strategy requires him to lose attacks while his faction presumably prefers something rather different.

He nevertheless managed to sneak in another five losses, bringing his total to 6.

So the dream is technically still alive.

It may simply require some creative scheduling.

Betting is now closed, and the final market makes the situation even more interesting.

ContaminatedIce and JohnFin attracted the largest individual stakes at 5 Xanax each, giving both final odds of 5.38.

papa123 closed at 8.15, Asadecubo at 8.82, while current leader Soranotaka — despite sitting on 128 losses — finished at odds of 12.81.

And perhaps the most interesting player of all is Kloppixd.

Third place.

107 losses.

And not a single Xanax bet.

Someone could finish very pleased with their tournament performance while absolutely nobody gets to say, “I told you so.”

We now have five days remaining, and Day 2 has already shown us something important: a 72-loss opening day can take you to first place — and one quiet day can send you straight back to fifth.

At the top, only five attacks separate Soranotaka and papa123.

Kloppixd is chasing.

DRAGO_DARK is moving.

And ContaminatedIce has already demonstrated exactly how much damage can be done in a single day.

In other words:

There is still plenty of time to lose this competition.

Which, confusingly, is exactly what everyone is trying to do.

Please, let me know your thoughts!

Cheers,

The Xanxiety Games – Group 1: Day 5

It’s Day 5 of the Xanxiety Competition, and we’ve reached the second-last day. With only 1 day and 17 hours remaining, the leaderboard is still incredibly tight.

At the top, we now have a five-way tie on 17 Xanax: Brenadryl, Iceknave, DF__Lykos, AriesGoddess, and tbNoman.

Just behind them is Wojtyn on 16, only one Xanax away from joining the leaders.

Day 5 was certainly interesting. Everyone used at least 3 Xanax, with one player using 4, putting them one Xanax ahead of everyone else for the day... Will that help them, who knows?

And then there's DF__Lykos, who has unfortunately overdosed. He still shares the top spot with several other players, but could this potentially slow him down during the final stretch?

On the other side of the leaderboard, UltraMeowCat and JhayMarvel are both sitting on 12 Xanax.

With only 1 day and 17 hours left, can either of them make a final push and catch up with the leaders, or have they been left too far behind?

There's still time for the leaderboard to change. Who will still be standing at the top when the Xanxiety Games finally come to an end?

Please, let me know your thoughts!
