I love spooky stories! I also go along ghost tours quite often :)
I have many experience with the paranormal  - I'll share one. 

When i was in my early years, my family and i lived in this townhouse, and pretty much the day of living there, our doorbell which we had installed would randomly bark like a dog, along with the curtains near the door would move like someone had walked past. This happened every now again over the years, and at night time.

In our rooms we had floorboards so obviously you hear different sounds when walking through the room. and some nights you wake up from hearing the floorboards squeak as it sounded like someone was walking towards the bed, you'd feel a dip into the end of the bed like someone sat on the edge of the bed, and tapping your leg as a comfort thing. Every time we would wake up - There was nobody there but still had a comfort feeling. 

We ended up relaying this to the realtor who sold us the house, and we were advised a few past owners shared the same experience. So upon further investigation I found out it was an elderly man who lived there in the early 1960's and he had a dog.

My brain hurts reading this…

Honestly the best way i make it through each day is to fake it till i make it - Might not be the best advice really but it is how i am coping these days. 

You are def not alone - I am happy to chat if need be :) I am a good listener.

My childhood belief was every time it stormed, the rumbling sound was god and Santa bowling. And the loud bang of lightning was one of them getting a strike. And when it rained it was the loser crying..
