It's not necessary to consume resources on searches that only contain very common filler words and wouldn't provide meaningful results, so those have now been excluded. Searches like the examples +"and" +"pineapple" or "Ched with bogie" will still search and return results.
Exact match performance has also been improved, so the search example of +"https" -"img" -"embed" will complete. Of course we'll still continue to improve searches like that and others as more data comes in.

Today we've launched a new and improved version of forum search, which replaces the outdated Sphinx engine.
This updated search introduces a range of powerful tools and modifiers to help you find exactly what you're looking for.
Supported modifiers (can be combined for more precise results):
- Plus (+text): Must contain text
- Minus (-text): Must exclude text
- by: player_name OR player_ID: Search all posts by a specific player
- Wildcard (text*): Must contain words starting with text (wildcard only works on the right side)
- Double quotes ("text"): Must contain the exact word or phrase
- Pipe (text1 | text2): Must contain either text1 or text2, or both
- Parenthesis (+"text1" +(text2 | text3)): Must have text1 AND text2 OR text3
Other changes include:
- Ability to search by threads that contain polls
- Ability to search only through thread titles
- Poll questions and options are included in results
- Results now display relative timestamps, last edited, and last replied information
- Minimum search length of 2 characters (blank searches are still permitted to browse everything)
- The following 2-letter words have been excluded from the search database to improve performance: an as at be by de en in is it la of on or to
