I normally don’t like going out of my way to comment on drama posts like this because even trying to leave a neutral comment in Torn can sometimes draw attention or problems you didn’t want in the first place, but I did want to give my honest perspective on it.

I think the reason people are reacting negatively isn’t because everyone is “offended,” it’s because even from your own post and replies people can piece together enough context to understand why things escalated the way they did.

You publicly joked about faction leadership, attacked former faction members during chains, and then the situation escalated further with both sides bringing up retaliation and faction connections. Whether some of it was meant seriously or not, most factions in Torn are going to react badly once things reach that point.

And honestly, Torn is the kind of game where people need very little reason to jump into drama, retaliate, pick sides, or keep conflicts going. That’s not really unique to this situation, it’s just part of Torn culture, especially once faction politics get involved.

You kept telling people to “read the title” like the backlash is because people are offended, but I don’t think that’s what most of the reactions are about. I think people just see this as a situation where both sides escalated things, and your post mostly focuses on what others did while downplaying your own role in it.

Another thing is that you were already aware those faction leaders had older connections and allies backing them. That’s pretty normal in Torn, especially with established factions and long-time players. But then later presenting that same thing as proof you were being uniquely bullied is probably why some people aren’t fully buying the narrative.

I’m trying to look at this from a more neutral perspective instead of just blindly taking sides. Torn absolutely can be toxic at times, and newer players can definitely get overwhelmed by the social side of the game. But Torn is also a game built a lot around patience, reputation, politics, and endurance. A lot of players eventually run into situations like this at some point.

Despite everything, I honestly do hope you weather the storm and stick with the game. Most long-term Torn players have had drama, enemies, bad faction experiences, or moments where they pissed people off. What usually matters most is how you move forward from it.
