Might as well slap a “get good or quit” sticker on the login screen.

“This Game Is Only Fun If You Have No Life. And That’s the Point.” Torn isn't some tactical masterpiece. It’s a glorified timer simulator wrapped in crime-RPG clothing. That level 100 guy? He didn’t outplay you — he just set alarms during bathroom breaks. It's not skill, it's schedule addiction.
“Grinding 24/7 Isn’t Dedication. It’s Delusion.” If you’ve ever bragged about logging in during your wedding, or skipping family events for a war chain — congrats, you're not elite. You're the cautionary tale. Torn convinced y’all your log-in streak is a badge of honor. It’s a red flag.

I've been playing Torn for very close to a couple months, and I've had a great time meeting all the amazing people I've had the chance to speak to here.
To all my friends, acquaintances, and some Torn staff, I want to say thank you so much for making my time on torn a fun one. It's been a pleasure to be part of this community for so long, and I'll always be glad to have been a part of it.

ive come to realise most torn players are egotistical people who think online gaming is their passion, when i joined this game as a joke with my friends i didnt think this community was going to act like trolls found under a bridge with this arrogance and passion to create/make or have arguements and make disputes over the slightest things. Just remember this game is only a game and not real life.

Now, after years of reflection, market crashes, and soul-searching (and also watching people lose thousands buying pictures of ducks with laser eyes), I am here to say: I was wrong. So wrong. Impressively wrong. Like "launch an ICO for Torn dog tags" levels of wrong.
I genuinely thought I was onto something. My brain, bless its smooth, wrinkle-free surface, was buzzing with the possibilities. "Imagine," I said to my reflection, who, by the way, was also a moron, "a blockchain-backed Xanax. Each pill with its own unique, verifiable history of whose faction leader's cousin's dog walker it was stolen from."
I pictured a world where you could mint your failed-heist logs as NFTs. "Series 1: 'You were spotted by a guard and landed in jail.'" A collector's item! The 'Losing to Jimmy' collection would have been a goldmine! We're talking about certifying the unique digital signature of your 500th loss to someone half your level. The sheer, unadulterated shame, now with a gas fee attached!
My magnum opus, the idea that I was sure would get me a seat next to Chedburn himself, was NFT-based faction territories. Imagine the pure, unadulterated chaos. You wouldn't just be warring for respect; you'd be warring for a token that proves you own a 1x1 pixelated square of mud that someone could then right-click and save anyway. The gas wars would have been more brutal than any ranked war. People would be taking out real-life mortgages to fund their digital landgrabs, only to have their NFT wallet drained because they clicked on a phishing link in a trade chat promising "Free Donator Packs."

Pay-to-Revive: Your buddy is down and bleeding out in the street? Hope they have enough TornCoin in their MetaMask for the revive fee. Otherwise, they can just lie there and contemplate their poor financial decisions.
The Duke Lends Collection: A series of NFTs representing all the items Duke has ever lent out, each with a unique backstory of how it was probably used to hospitalize a noob for breathing too loud.
So, to the entire Torn community, I offer my deepest, most sincere apology. I have seen the error of my ways. I understand now that the only thing that should be "non-fungible" in this city is the crushing sense of despair after you realize you've spent 15 years of your life clicking on a text-based crime game.
I'll see myself to the forums to be rightfully flamed. I deserve it.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a revolutionary new idea: integrating large language models. Think of the potential. AI-generated mission descriptions that are just vaguely threatening, grammatically incoherent nonsense. An AI faction leader that optimizes territory wars by calculating the precise moment of maximum emotional devastation to declare on a rival. We could even have an AI Duke who dynamically adjusts his insults based on your deepest insecurities it gleans from your chat logs. It's the future! It can't fail.
