@toshykazu thanks for the hint, it was indeed NordVPN, but it doesn't have to be uninstalled, only embedded ad/tracker blocker needs to be disabled/paused for Torn site.
Now it all works fine, and I'm replying from PC!
cheers!

Hi,
I tried to spark the discussion in suggestions section of the forum, but for some reason no traction at all, and I'm just genuinely curious whether this has been discussed ever, and what's the general sentiment about it.
The concept of family and alliance for factions would allow larger groups of people who share the same values to more easily manage the group of factions. It would also allow members to more easily participate in various internal (chains, races, etc.) and external activities (wars, events) organized by each faction. Additionally, some merits would be working across factions, such as Faction Days & Respect.
There are many more things which could be integrated as Torn's first-class features, such as faction family forums, additional merits, and many more. Such an organizational concept would bring and internalize a lot of "meta" happening outside of Torn.
If we go further, the concept of Faction Alliances could also make sense, as that's the reality behind the scenes, faction families and single factions forming partnerships to overcome a difficulty. This, on the other hand, could allow for absolutely new game mechanics, such as politics (ouch) to potentially involve more general population into this part of game.
Happy to hear your thoughts
Thx
I have the issues with various forms on PC, form submit buttons are not visible, and it seems JS is the problem on desktop browsers, I tried both 3 chromium based (edge, chrome, brave) and firefox (clean install) without any extensions or scripts. all have the same issue, action buttons are not visible.
I am writing this from mobile browser (brave) and everything works, please check the screenshot it might help.
I encountered this problem elsewhere also: trading page (no accept button), missions (cant finish mission without full page reload), , forums (post button and text area missing) and messages page (no reply)…
I think all these share the same root cause
Hi,
First of all, sorry if this is a repeating topic, but using forum search is highly discouraging atm.

yes and this is barely scratching the surface of possibilities.
I am by no means an expert in the topic of the current "meta" game that happens outside of regular torn, which leads to world wars, rigged competitions, and similar activities in which most of the citizens (us) are bystanders or literal npc-s.
I posted it already in the suggestions forum, but I haven't thought about the concept more than this initial thought. Also, I don't think I'm involved or knowledgeable enough to make a full-blown suggestion without affecting the game balance across the board.
Regardless, I think if lead game designers and philosophers give it a try, the concept could bring many things, basically yet another dimension to the game.
I would say they are still serving two different purposes. Discord is used by every major faction or well-organized group of factions for real-time orchestration, events, fun and such.
However, having a 1st-class, in-game support for a social concept that exists in reality, such as proposed "faction families/alliances" would allow the game to grow further and provide another layer of game mechanics and quality of life improvements.

hmm yes, thanks for the clues I’ll try to check it out!
yes I can, it’s the same problem with JS as above in the SS. Tried on latest firefox and brave browsers / windows 10
