This isn't a vault theft; it’s a Liquidation Fee for the two years I spent watching a fraud run a faction into the ground. It is the literal price of your own hubris, Dsla. As a final sign of accountability: I have already sent $200,000,000 of my own personal funds to the WTF Ducks to help fund the consequences you were too cowardly to deal with yourself
I mean, from what you wrote here it is in fact a vault theft. One can debate whether or not DSLA and VR deserved it (I don't know enough or care enough to have that debate myself) but trying to pretend it's not a vault theft because you don't like the guy is...special.
Just say "Haha I scammed the scammer" and own it. I could have some respect for that.
Anyway, back to watching the drama from a comfy spot on the sidelines.
When I took the bet, Zaid7 could have easily been his opponent. I had skin in the game too, even if he offered a foolish bet. Had he asked me to cancel the bet before it was clearly lost, I would have. Had he been even a little bit respectful in how he dealt with this, I would have likely agreed to accept a token amount.
Instead, he has been extremely rude towards me, tried to wiggle out of it however he could, gotten his in game spouse to threaten me, etc. I have now wasted several hours trying to collect on a bet that I clearly won. And two people have now promised me payment without actually sending it.
I am not going to back down because I am not interested in caving in to disrespect or threats. I look forward to this being dealt with so I can go back to my day.
So when I quote someone who is offering a bet with "booked" and they then like my post, you don't consider that an agreement of a bet?
Had Zaid7 reached the semifinals and been beaten by Staypufd, would I not have been on the hook for that bet?
EDIT:
Something tells me you'd be threatening me also if I lost and I was the one trying to claim "No terms were agreed to." Though at least then you'd be in the right.
You already have made a bet with me, and I expect you to pay what you owe me.
If you wanted to clarify the terms of the bet YOU OFFERED, you should have clarified them when I booked the bet, not after you have lost.
If you had meant "if I meet him in semi finals" you should have said "if." You did not.
I will not be making any further bets with you, as you clearly do not honor your word.
02:16:29 - 30/09/26 You added Staypufd to your enemies list with the description : Halloween - renegs on bets
Edit: To be clear, I won't make a hostile response to any non-payment until after you are out of the tournament, as I don't want to interfere with the results. So you have until then to pay.
You wrote "200m i meet him in semi finals and beat him o_O"
The meaning of which is plain. That is not a complicated sentence to parse. 200m (the stakes) i meet him in semi finals (condition 1) and (logical union) beat him (condition 2) o_O (irrelevant).
Since condition 1 is false, and the logical operator is a union, the conditions of the bet are false and I have won the bet.
Yes, you were stupid to offer a conditional bet on who you would face in the semifinals, but you offered it and then acknowledged me booking it with a like. Next time be more careful what you offer up as a bet.
You offered a bet that said you will meet Zaid7 in the semifinals and beat him. I quoted and replied "Booked", which you then acknowledged with a like, making it clearly an accepted bet.
You will not be fighting Zaid7 in the semifinals since he lost in the quarterfinals, therefore one of the two conditions of the bet you offered is false. You lost the bet that you offered.
If you want, I am willing to go double-or-nothing that CDNDeimos will win his semi-finals match, which will most likely be against you. Otherwise, you should pay what you owe.
I'm also willing to accept outside bets, up to 500m, that CDNDeimos will win his semi-final matchup, which will most likely be against Staypufd.
It's a very different thing. A vault thief is someone you genuinely trust, who then uses that trust to betray people who they have likely known for years. This is someone whose shell got sold and suddenly has a brand new leader who he has no innate loyalty to.
The type of hothead behavior you describe (whether accurately describing the individual or not) is common enough in the playerbase that it's not worth posting forum threads over. Just kick them out and move on with your life. They'll find their fit somewhere else. Hell, there's even a dedicated vault thief faction now.
Of course, without the screenshots it's really a coin flip on who is the bad one. I've seen these threads go both ways.
Many people wind up buying donor packs to gamble with. And even for those who don't, addiction drives engagement. And the casino is used as a stabilizing influence on the overall economy, with gamblers bearing the costs for this.
It's bad enough that the casino is the one part of the game with sound cues - something that is 100% intentionally chosen to cause a reinforcement effect in people. The more flashing lights and whirring noises and stimuli, the worse those effects on people's psyche becomes. Pavlov and Skinner did the foundational work in this, but it's extremely well studied as ways to reinforce the "intermittent reward" mechanism in our brains exploited by games like the slots.
Similarly with all of the people begging for "parlays" or other extremely high risk forms of betting. Tendency to overweight/underweight very small probabilities is a thoroughly studied phenomena in Behavioral Economics, and those long shot bets are designed to exploit that weakness in our brain's ability to evaluate risk/reward cues.
Whatever the currency is (and even if the currency is just attention), an industry that relies on decades of psychologists and economists evaluating exactly where the squishy bits between our ears have blind spots so that they can be used against us is exploitative.
You say that you are the one making the choice to gamble, but I can lock a rat in a box and get it to do nothing but press a lever on a slot machine all day, even when it gets an electric shock every time it loses. If I run it for long enough, it will keep pressing the lever even when it stops winning at all, and all that happens is that it gets shocked.
Is the rat making a choice of its own free will, or am I exploiting an animal?
