Foreign Items
Each destination offers a foreign bazaar, from where you purchase the items you'd want to import.
These items are stocked up on a cycle basis and deplete again as other players make purchases.
When an item is out of stock, it cannot be purchased - In which case, you'd settle for something else as to leave ASAP, or you'd wait for the item to restock which opens the risk of being attacked, or you'd just leave without any stock on hand.
This is why planning beforehand is key, to minimize the risk of losing unnecessary time, wasting natural resources, and/or losing any potential profits.
Each item has a specific cost and a recommended market price. This difference is your potential profit.
The potential profit divided by the flight time, will give you your Profit / Hour for a specific item - This is how much profit can be made per 1 Hour of Flying, which is used to determine the best Bang for your Time.
Example:
Item 1:
- Potential Profit is $52 000, Return Flight takes 2hr 30min.
- 52000 / 2.5 = $20,800 / Hour
- Lower Potential, Higher Profit/Hr
Item 2:
- Potential Profit is $72 000, Return Flight takes 5hr 12min.
- 72000 / 5.2 = $13,846 / Hour
- Higher Potential, Lower Profit/Hr
Pricing and Stock quantities for foreign items for each destination can be viewed using YATA Yet Another Torn App) at https://yata.yt/bazaar/abroad/
While YATA's Profit/Hr is based only on Standard Flight times, it is still a good reference for foreign stock analysis.
What to Import?
As previously mentioned, most players opt for Flushies.
These are very easy to sell, as they're sought after. Most buyers collect the complete sets of Flowers and Plushies, to trade for Points on Museum Day.
And of course, Xanax is the #1 drug of choice in Torn City, so there's that.
Imported from South Africa (Also available in other destinations, but only SA provides profit), Xanax sells fast (With risk), and profits are great – But it does require a bit of a 6-Zero Investment initially.
Additionally, 23 new contraband items have recently (Dec 2025) been added to foreign stocks - More details can be found in this Post by Chedburn [1].
Very few other items are worth the effort.
However, Smoke Grenades (Temp Weapon from South Africa) can also provide good returns.
But always be sure to check the Profit/Hr for your Foreign Items of interest, to ensure you’re making the most informed choices – Is this the most profitable item I want to import, that will fit into my fly schedule?
Typical profit ranges on Plowers for the 3 flight time categories:
- Short Haul flights = $5,000 - $10,000 Profit/Hour
- Medium Haul flights = $10,000 - $15,000 Profit/Hour
- Long Haul flights = $15,000 - $20,000 + Profit/Hour
Foreign Stock Timing
One of the worst aspects of flying, is landing at your destination to find the item you wanted is no longer available.
While you do have 15 sec of protection from being attacked after landing, it leaves very little time to decide to buy something else, wait for restock, or to just leave – Either way, time and/or profits are lost.
For new flyers, it is not recommended to hang around in a foreign destination - You do not want to waste hours in a foreign hospital.
At many destinations, however, someone would be offering Revives for Purchase (Typically for 1x Xan or $1mil), but this is generally not an option for new flyers.
So, to minimize such risks, it is best to analyze the foreign stocks before departing, to ensure you have the best chance of getting stock upon arrival.
TornTravel.com is an excellent website by TheMrMiku [2132482] for planning and managing your travels in Torn.
Using the many settings available, you can plan your departure, arrival, and return times. View quick Profit/Hour calculations according to your flight type. View Cash required for the selected Items in your plan. Select only the Item types you're interested in for each location, and more.
This Post by TheMrMiku [2132482] covers it all.

Other Foreign Activities
Beyond the Foreign Items offered, there are other things that can be done abroad too.
Some destinations have a special location included at which you would do something specific.
- Used to keep cash safe and out of your wallet.
- Interest offered is lowest in the game though.
Muggings are also common.
Cayman Islands offers Offshore Banking
- Used to remove or reduce your addiction level, or after an overdose to regain your full happy.
Switzerland offers the Rehab Centre
- China offers the Fortune Teller
- Used to find out what your Special Foreign Item is.
- The Souvenir Merit is unlocked when the item is purchased.
- South Africa offers Hunting
- Energy is spent here to hunt wild animals for profits.
- There are Hunting Merits to be unlocked.
- On Tiger Day, hunting experience is increased 5x
- BCT is used on Tiger Day to get more SA visits in

Attacking Abroad
When abroad, you can Attack other players that are at that destination as well. And of course, vice-versa.
You do have a 15 sec window of protection after landing, during which you cannot be attacked – This window is long enough to make purchases / rehab / hunt and then leave again.
Any longer, and you then become visible on the “People” tab, which is everyone currently at that destination.
Attacking Abroad seems very appealing, especially to the new player, but I must warn that ending up in a foreign hospital is a serious time-killer (Upper ends of 6 Hours)– Else, if you can afford $1mil /Xan to be revived, it then wastes you that (Not very appealing to the new player).
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying don’t attack abroad – Just understand the risks involved and prepare for unintended outcomes.
There is a Merit for defeating 100 people abroad, which is certainly a steal.
However, it’s best to do this when you aren’t looking too attractive to other predators - Higher levels with higher ranks tend to deter them – So if you’re young and small, first take the necessary steps to allow for easier foreign attacks, without being preyed upon.
Duke also offers missions that involve attacking abroad, and I would never suggest you pass up a good contract.
So, if you must, and are still an easy target, then my best advice is:
- Ensure you have everything you need for the mission (Usually a weapon).
- Plan your Item purchase for the specific destination
- Have the needed funds in wallet
- Time your stock and fly out
- Once landed, do the mission, make your purchase and return to Torn.
It is not to say that Big Dogs don’t get hit – There is always someone that can take you.
The bigger you become, the smaller the target on your back gets.

TL;DR
What flying is and why you’ll do it (almost) every day:
Once you hit level 15, you unlock the Travel Agency. Flying lets you hop to other countries to buy stuff you can’t get in Torn, or much lower prices otherwise — mainly flowers and plushies (Flushies) and Xanax — and bring them back to sell for profit. While you’re in the air, you can’t be attacked and your energy refills completely, so it’s both a moneymaker and a safety/resource refresh tactic. You start with slow Standard flights that cost cash and only let you carry 5 items, but upgrades change everything.
How to upgrade and what to actually do:
The first big goal is getting your carry limit up and flight time down. Rent a Private Island with an Airstrip and hire a Pilot — this gives you faster free flights and bumps your base carry limit to 15 items. You can add more with suitcases from Hawaii, faction perks, and job bonuses (like working at the Cruise Line). The real skill isn’t just grabbing anything — it’s checking YATA before you take off to make sure what you want is in stock, and calculating Profit per Hour so you’re not spending 4 hours on a low-return item. Land, buy during your 15 seconds of protection, and get out — otherwise you can get put in a foreign hospital for hours.
Advanced plays and when to go big:
Besides imports, some countries have special features: Switzerland for rehab, Cayman Islands to stash cash, South Africa for hunting (use BCTs here on Tiger Day). The biggest profit day of the year is Tourism Day (Sept 27), when your carry limit doubles — that’s when you use Business Class Tickets and go hard. Attacking abroad is usually a bad idea unless you’re strong and ready for the risk. Bottom line: set up your Airstrip, use YATA to time your flights, and fly smart — it’s one of the most consistent money makers in the game once you get the system down.
