Disclaimer : This is my TLDR introduction to flying based on my own experience, I don't claim to have the perfect and most profitable way possible but that's the way that worked for my playstyle.
If you didn't know, you will be able to travel to other countries by flight to buy flowers and plushies (and other items) and sell them for a nice profit.
I will only talk about flowers and plushies but, the same can be done with any items abroad. Flowers and plushies are the easiest and most profitable ones to start with at level 15.
You want to maximize your capacity because you only have 5 items per flight by default. Renting and living in a private island will reduce your travelling time by 30% and give you free flights. (You need to hire a pilot in your PI)
Default : 5
Airstrip and pilot in PI: +10
Faction travel perks : +0-10 (Depending on the faction)
Small suitcase +2 or Medium suitcase +3 or Large suitcase +4 (They don't stack)
Total if you max everything : 29 items
You really want to increase your capacity as fast as possible so you can make max profit.

If you are like me and saved all your money and items before level 15 and can afford to rent a PI, go for it, it's the best first upgrade you can make to increase your profit !
If you can't afford it right now, try to keep and sell every item you get from crimes to make money. Never keep money on you, keep it in faction vault, bank or stocks. You still can travel but you will need to pay for your flights and carry less items.

Before boarding a flight, there is a little flight safety warning. You can get mugged and attacked abroad just like in torn but you don't carry any medicine so you will have to wait it out or pay a high fee to get revived abroad which will eat all your profit and much more. You are given a 15 seconds invincibility window when you land abroad or in Torn. You have to buy your items and LEAVE before the 15 seconds is over to prevent being attacked.
Natural Energy and Nerve. since you should be focusing on training and increasing your crime levels. Don't travel too far, usually you shouldn't fly further then UK or Argentina around level 15 as to not waste any energy and nerve, always use all of both before flying.

Where do you sell your newly acquired flowers and plushies
- You can sell them by yourself on the item market but that usually attracts muggers since you just turned level 15. Plus there is a 5% commission fee to be paid to Torn which eats at your profit (every little bit helps)
- Known and reputable traders like myself
- The plus of working with a reputable trader is that you won't get buy/sell mugged (at least by the trader). Different traders offer different price for different items too. I buy flowers and plushies at 97% of market price rate. You can see my full item price list here on Tornexchange
