Trust your community to not waste your time regarding long term accounts.  We still have one waiting.  The assumption that an entire faction would lie about losing a friend and compatriot is a poor premise to begin with.  You're effectively locking the account.  There's zero benefit to making up a story. 

Why would you need to verify anything against your long-term customers and supporters?

Expecting a matching death certificate to close the grieving process in an online game where anonymity is so important the personal information portion of our profile was removed is a rather high bar.

As a new player Slash Wednesday during the opening salvo of Elimination made the game crackle.  It forced participation and allowed new players to survive the onslaught while learning about the realities of a server wide fist fight.  A random day in December will never feel the same.  Humbly submitted in the name of memes, content and shenanigans.
