Best manager

Hello everyone! I am organizing a Heads-Up (1v1) Poker Tournament in March 1sr. If you think you can outbluff and outplay the best, this is your chance, no excuses about other players hands, you are alone in the arena.

We will be using a Double Elimination format (Winners and Losers brackets), so one bad beat won't knock you out!

Let's warm up for the upcoming Torn Series of Poker!

🏆 Tournament Mechanics - Starting March 1st

• Format: 1v1 Poker (Hold'em).

• Buy-in: $20,000,000 (Goes directly to the prize pool)

• Security Deposit: $20,000,000 (Fully refundable)

• Total Entry: $40,000,000

• Game Table: Each match will be played at a DUEL AT DAWN a $20M buy-in each

• When: starting on the 1st of March

Why should I trust the organiser?

I have received this question a few times already and I understand the concern giving a bunch of mils to a less than a year old player. Thanks to Proxima, main representative of the Poker community and Player Comitee member, I will be sending all the entry fees and deposits to Proxima to cover as collateral, Player Comitee members cannot scam at all and Proxima has a high reputation in the game. Thanks for collaborating with THUC.

I will be handling payments and all entry fees should be sent to myself so Proxima does not need to track logs.

🛡️ Why the Security Deposit?

To ensure a fair and "runner-free" environment, every player must send a $40M total.

• $20M is your entry fee for the prizes.

• $20M is held by me as a guarantee - fully refundable when you are out of the tournament

Since the winner of a match effectively takes the loser's $20M on the poker table, the deposit ensures that if someone refuses to pay or leaves mid-game, the victim is fully compensated. The winner has to return the money to the loser or will be disqualified.

If you are a victim of a player running away, you will get your deposit back with their money.

💰 Prize Pool - 1.35 Billion TCD

The total prize pool will consist of 100% of the entry fees.

• 1st Place: 50% - 675 mil GTD

• 2nd Place: 30% - 405 mil GTD

• 3rd Place: 20% - 270 mil GTD

📜 Rules

1. The winner of the match must return the buy-in to the loser

2. Match Setup: Once the bracket is live, you must contact your opponent to set up the 1v1 table

3. No Muggings: Attacking your opponent during the tournament matches is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification and loss of deposit. That includes organising mugs with other players.

4. Timing: You have 48 hours to complete your match once the round starts.

5. Reporting: The winner must send me a screenshot of the "Game Log" or the final result.

* If any rule is broken, the player will get disqualified with a potential loss of deposit and ban of future tournaments.

📝 How to Join

Please send your $40,000,000 to myself with the message "THUC Tournament Entry". Comment below once sent to be added to the bracket.

This forum post is a small retrospective on the very first community event I have organised in Torn.

The very first Torn Heads-Up Championship kicked off on the 1st of March 2026 and with a total of 16 players and an entry fee of 20 TCD million saw DickenLee raise as Champion and get home 675 million.

To complete the players in the money we had Steve_ as a runner up that got 405 million home while Hayato finished in third place with 270 million as the prize. 30 heads-up matches were played in the Duel at Dawn and Juan on Juan tables in the Torn Casino during 12 days of poker thrill.

If I had to describe THUC (Torn Heads-Up Championship) in one word, it has to be "Sportsmanship". Due to the poker technical limitations in Torn, we could not do heads-up matches witth a low entry fee, minimum to play was 20 million in the smaller table. We were not playing for the money on every match, winner should return money to the loser to keep playing. Due to this we added a security deposit of 20 million as an insurance if any player ran away with the winnings from a match. We did not have to kick or ban anyone from the tournamen count that as a small victory for THUC.

I have learnt a lot organising this, from managing players, rules and learning a lot from more experienced poker players and organisers that were always more than open to give feedback and help to improve.

Overall, THUC can be considered a succesful event, with lots of room for improvement but can be an initial stone for more community poker events, there is a lot of interest and also a lot of money on the table.

What's next? After some break and getting to play myself, I will be back to the Drawing Board for Poker tourneys, more THUC? High roller tourneys? MTT SNGs? Keep posted and make sure you comment in this thread to be notified first about future events.

Lastly, I wanted to thank a few key people for THUC:

• The anonymous donor that made a small poker community event a big competition increasing the prize pool for a Billion TCD
• Systoned for developing the main web for THUC and support during the competition and DuckOfDestiny for the development of some tourney scripts to run THUC smoother
• Proxima for all the feedback, support and be our safety diposit increasing the trust the players had in the organisation
• UncleTurkey for all the feedback and support
• TSH to let me run THUC in the Torn Tournies Discord
• DR_CT for 10 TCD million donation to the Prize Pool

Systoned just announced a new community challenge in Torn Casino: The Poker Ladder

You can check all the info in the original post: https://www.torn.com/forums.php#/p=threads&f=69&t=16582528&b=0&a=0

My goal during the upcoming weeks will be to climb the ladder on cash games while building my bankroll.

I want to reach Oligarch tables without busting but go as fast as possible.

For this reason, I will be using an agressive bankroll management of 10 min buy-ins for the next table to climb to the next rank. It's not going to be the fastest way to climb but I want to try and do an Iron Man run without busting.

Pick your seat and ride with me on this journey in the Ladder Challenge.

Day 1: Moved up three tables up to Broke Jokes and currently sitting at 10k of bankroll. We didn't realise that we could bust because you cannot go down a level and fought for our live for the first time in the challenge but Poker Gods were on our side.

Doing my first incursion as a business owner right now and I started working as a director while the owner is someone else, taking a % of the revenue. Helps a lot to have a mentor and you are not risking that much money as a newbie.

wrong place, sorry

If you add rake, for me there should be a way to recover it, such as jackpot pots, prizes for daily rankings... Rake in the sense of having money to dissapear, for me it makes no sense in this context.

That's right, TSOP is being worked on and we are using this new feature and community poker tourney to test it out. If it is a succesful event, we are making huge steps towards an official TSOP. Consider it part of the development.

Thanks to WeedPsycho, THUC Bubble PlayerChedbum and Dickenlee as champ of THUC, will have a free buy-in to compete here.

Sign me up! Let's see where we rank without intentionally doing anything lol
