At 0 days old, I clicked the faction tab on my UI, barely aware of what I was doing and applied to the first faction that looked active. I didn't know what was needed on an application so I just clicked "apply" and sent in my blank application.
Noob that I was, they took me in.
I learned from players who have been around longer than I, what was expected, what I needed to do to get strong, and had a blast while doing it. I then got to help support and teach brand new players what I'd learned, cementing my own knowledge and paying it forward.
Recently we had a major betrayal. It was hard for a lot of the younger members because it was them that it hurt more than anyone, and yet I watched the vast majority of this faction pick itself up - regroup and stick together. Lessons have been learned and taken on board.
These people will have your back. They will help you figure out what to do, how to do it and how to do it well. They will help you become strong and learn how to begin to gather wealth and invest in yourself.
They're a fun group of people and it's been an honor working with them. If you're looking for a faction that isn't just going to use you up and spit you out, or sell you on like a commodity, then apply here. Matrix is a place you will definitely learn.
I thought long and hard about doing this but I made a public statement and now I feel that because I did, I need to correct that a little.
The people in this thread have not been brainwashed. They say it's an amazing faction because that's genuinely how they feel. The members in it are incredibly warm and supportive. They'll cheer you on when you succeed and commiserate with you when you fail. They're not worried about the consequences of speaking negitively about MU because there aren't any. Critisism (in my experience) is encouraged. I don't know if that's how it used to be but it is now. So if they felt negatively, they would say so.
I LOVE this faction for it's members. They're funny, they're caring and they will push you to success with encouragement.
If you join this faction as a new player (and even now I wouldn't advise people against it) you will learn all the basics. You will level up quickly and get relitively strong (for a newbie). You will find a lot of new friends who will welcome you with open arms. It's not a cliquey place.
But make no mistake, what makes this faction an incredible place to be is its members (most of them). Do not rely on leadership to have your back. Sink or swim, for him there is no in between. If you are in trouble, leadership will not help you. They (and by they, I mean he) will not repay your loyalty so do not feel like you owe any to him. Crim is not malicious, but he will not stand by those who have stood by him. When you are ready to move on - do so without regret - but keep in touch with the friends you made because they are fantastic people.
I loved my time in MU but in the end, I was not treated well (though as per ususal, its members have been amazing). I will miss this faction so incredibly much. Hell, I already do - but my choice to move on was the right one for me and I do not regret it.
Yeah... we did. Crim messed up. He made a major mistake. But, on the other hand, in less than a week he made the bank square again out of his own pocket. Not one member, who had money in that vault when it was looted lost their cash.
I was one of his biggest critics for the stuff that went wrong. I outright called him out in faction chat, infront of everyone. The only thing he did, was tell me he wanted to hear what I had to say and then thanked me for my honesty. I've watched members get mad at him.. he never loses his cool with them, never kicks anyone for personal issues - he's a decent guy who is capable of learning from his mistakes.
This was SO much fun! A special thank you to the guy I kept hitting who got annoyed by it, messaged me and when he found out we were doing a 50k chain immediately said "That's crazy, use my body!!!" So much fun!
