Hi there! As many new people joining factions are reluctant to join in OC as they're not sure how it works (I was exactly the same so don't worry!) I thought making a quick guide explaining how it works, what you need to look out for and how to avoid anyone being annoyed by your lack of knowledge 😂 so once you're out of your first 3 day "recruit" phase of joining and officially a fully fledged member of the faction we'll begin here -
WHERE DO I FIND AN OC?
To find the currently running organised crimes you'll want to head to the faction page and from there you will see some tabs at the top of the faction banner. The gas mask looking logo will take you to OC as you can see here for the visual learners.

Once you've arrived at the OC screen there will be 3 tabs; recruiting/planning/completed. To join an OC you'll be looking at the recruiting screen, here you will see a list of crimes with open slots still available. The open space will have a coloured number on it, this is the chance of success for you in that particular role. Generally if it's lower than 60 (particularly on higher level crimes) we would advise to not join as your Checkpoint will probably fail and could cost the operation success.

JOINING YOUR FIRST OC
So now you know where to look and you've seen one you are ok to join, what else is there to look for? And what happens next? Firstly, once all the slots are filled by faction members the operation moves over to the planning stage - each member has a certain time for planning (as seen above its 24hours) so the planning will cycle through all the members timers one by one until the crime is ready to go ahead.
This means its usually a couple of days before the crime actually takes place. During the planning stage (or even better recruitment stage) there is one other key thing to look out for, some roles require tools or equipment for that role to do it's part, the OC cannot go ahead without it.

I DON'T HAVE THE REQUIRED ITEM! WHAT DO I DO??
Don't worry, just message faction chat or leaders to ask for the item from faction stocks, but please do it straight away and not when the crime is held up waiting because you forgot 😝
ALL SET! SO WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Now, you can go about your business as usual until that timer has finished counting down. The main thing that you need to do when the timer is up is BE IN TORN, you don't have to be online just be in Torn. Not flying, not overseas. Not hospitalised or jailed either but these are less disruptive than being hours away overseas as the rest of the team have also wrangled their schedules to be in Torn for the crime to initiate. The timer appears on your notification bar as you can see here;

If you're not level 15 and flying yet then you don't really have to overthink being there for the OC but once you start that slog of endless flights it can be easy to forget when your OC is (particularly as its days of planning)
LUCKY FOR YOU, Torn has made it easier by displaying a warning before you take that flight that will annoy the rest of your team because you just had to be fashionably late..

OC INITIATED, WHAT NOW?
Now you can go back to the OC section and check the completed tab, it will show a small video of the crimes events (sometimes quite funny) if you want to skip it, click the video and a [X] should appear up the top right. You can then see the result of the crime and if successful, what you earned as a team.
The successful crimes are split between all the members involved in that OC after a faction cut. The earning are paid to your faction vault balance when the faction leaders are online to process them.
FAQs
How do I improve my OC success rate?
It's mainly based on you NNB (natural nerve bar) which can only be increased by doing crimes. Your NNB will increase by 5 every so often if you are committing enough crimes, organised crimes themselves can help towards it too.
My success rate is slightly lower than recommended, should I join anyway?
There is another hidden mechanic that could let the OC be successful even if you have a less desirable success score. Role "weights" give the estimated overall importance of the position to making the whole operation successful, some roles can be so vital they count for 50% of the chance the crime succeeds whereas some roles may only be 5% of the overall success rate.. those less important roles would be more flexible to be filled by lower scores. There are guides in the forums with information on role weights.
Hope that helps! Happy criminal activities 😁 Let me know if there's anything you think should be added or any general feedback. Go easy though it's my first post that I have painstakingly written out 😂 😂 😂
Originally written out for my faction but have edited it to be in general terms and free to use for everyone's benefit 👍
