Fair question. The numbers themselves weren't wrong. Gold Dust's strategic decision changed what those numbers meant.
The ticket lead, 50 lives, and net differential showed how well Gold performed under the conditions that produced them. Once Gold allowed the field to become a 1v1 against a team with a substantially larger active player base, those conditions changed.
That's the paradox I'm referring to. Not bad statistics—using historical statistics to judge a situation after your own strategic decision changed the environment.
And Then There Were Three: The Alliances Eat Themselves.

At the top of their game right now.
They’re sitting on 6,259 tickets and 50 lives while everybody underneath them is murdering each other.

Sticks. At this rate, probably 9 lives too.

APEX erased the ticket deficit.
Gold Dust may be one of the cleanest examples of how cumulative statistics can mislead about future conditions without being factually incorrect.
The Gold Dust Paradox...
Hawk: Gold waited too long; once this becomes 1v1, APEX's activity will eat the buffer.
Heavenly: Don't underestimate Gold; its active core can turn up when necessary and fight APEX.
Interesting...
Looks like the Torn City Times article called it...
“Gold Dust and Apex are widely believed to have an agreement to get rid of High Voltage and face off in the final two”
Gold Dust → HV ← APEX
APEX ← HV

So the endgame has effectively become:
Gold Dust → High Voltage → APEX → Gold Dust
The Alliances Eat Themselves.
And Then There Were Three: The Alliances Eat Themselves.

And then there were four.
High Voltage: 6,133 tickets / 48 lives
Gold Dust: 4,887 / 50
APEX: 871 / 40
Reptilians: 6 / 10
Reptilians having 6 tickets and still being alive might be my favorite part of this entire event.
