Howdy all!
Its been a heck of a year - and fairly safe to say I spend some time on the game.
As with everyone else i faffed about for my first month and a half - not knowing my ass from my elbow.
It was at this point that I decided to get serious with my mild addiction and join a big boy faction in KoA, and the guys here were kind enough to put up with me for the next 300 days. (I was especially hard on everyone as I was recovering from getting both hips replaced from October through February - its fun being 38!)
I had definitely caught the war bug - but felt useless, so then began reading.... and reading.... and reading... - at this point i feel like i have read every single guide out there. I would love to give a very special thanks to:

Their guides were some of the most influential of my early torn career.
So now that i have the bug - I experience my first RW - and to say my little 5k battle stat self sucked balls is an understatement - I couldn't do shit, and quite frankly - Fuck that!
Now comes the DP's and learning how to efficiently grow my stats. I pop into a 10* AN by buying every train with an end goal yet to be determined - i just wanted those 99k happy jumps and scoffed at poison mistletoe prices.
By Sept 26th - 2 months into life at torn i had a NW north of 10b and was up to 220k battle stats - still sucking in war.
The only logical sense is gear being the issue, and not the fact that the game is supposed to take years to build up. It also cant possibly be a skill issue - "Git Gud Scrub!"
Now comes the RW shopping.....

So now I pick these awesome dudes brains constantly - Learn everything I can about RW bonuses - gear worthiness - kit loadouts - what matters and why and why not, and proceed to do nothing but shop and tweak and trade more than I do in my 12 fantasy football leagues (If you have a league - YES I AM INTERESTED) - ahem - excuse me.
I keep spending and spending and spending and by January 1st I start to really come into my own with 3.5 million battle stats and those stupid happy jumps long behind me. I am also a fully fledged Jarl in the super dope Kingdom of Asgard. Super Special thanks to Balder [307656], Heimdall [1603592], and 0DIN [1580915] for believing in me and trusting me with a huge responsibility.
I war - I train - I mission - I read - standard stuff for the next 6 -7 months - all the while trying to figure out how to optimize passive positive cash flow, (I may have a slight E can addiction) - Energy drinks drunk 2865 - 90% of the 25 energy variety.
So I continue to spend and grow and spend and grow - I'm mouthy to the wrong people sometimes, friendly to the wrong people sometimes. - A word of caution to any young ones reading this - friend/enemy counts matter
Jump to the new quarter - April and I'm now 25 million BS and feel like I'm still a little nubbly wubbly - which I am - but im finally settling into my kit - I have a company under my belt thank you so much _Nico_Robin_ [1028538] for training me all those work stats for super cheap - youve been so awesome to me I feel like I can never repay the debt.
Kit is done - War is smoother - I am feel like I am cookin with gas until by some miracle I come across the 99k happy book for June - I read it immediately and my Battle stats shoot up 200 mill in a month.
Cut to today - I am just shy of 400 mil battle stats - 55b net worth - 392 awards - and have supported a game that I absolutely love. Heading into a pub run by another couple of friends I've made along the way.
If you're a new player - DO NOT HESITATE to reach out to me - I would be happy to help guide you along your journey - new players are a blessing to the game and it can feel heavy and overwhelming, everyone that says this game is a marathon and not a sprint is correct - but remember both are races so if you need some knowledging - please please please reach out.
