When I first started Torn, I was maybe a week or two in totally lost, just kind of wandering around trying to figure out what all the buttons did. That’s when CuriousSmile67 found me, crawling through the dump....
He pulled me into Militant, and honestly, that’s probably the reason I’m still playing. I didn’t know a thing about chaining, wars, or even how factions really worked, but from the first day I joined, everyone was welcoming and patient. They helped me learn the ropes, get better, and actually enjoy the game instead of just trying to survive it. Not to mention pushing all the drugs! :D
Since then, I’ve seen the faction grow and hold its own through wars and progress steadily. It’s been awesome to be part of a group that not only pushes to improve but also keeps the game fun.
If you’re new, or even just feeling a bit stuck, I can’t recommend this place enough. Finding good people in Torn can be rare ... I got lucky that they found me first.

I wanted to share a concept that came to mind during our current faction war — an idea that I think could add a bit of extra excitement, depth, and dark humor to the combat side of Torn.
Idea Overview:
During active faction wars, any attack resulting in a kill — whether the outcome is a leave, mug, or hospitalization — could have a rare chance to drop a unique “War Crime” item for the attacker.
Concept Details:
These items would be war-themed trophies or mementos of battle — things like:
Stolen Art
Family Jewelry or Old Photographs
Military-style Emblems, Tags, or Gear
(For darker humor) Gruesome “souvenirs” such as a tooth necklace or severed ear
They’d be tradable collectibles that could gain value in the player market, perhaps forming themed sets or categories.
Optionally, some could have very minor one-time buffs or just serve as pure collectibles with flavor text — the latter feels most in line with Torn’s existing dark, gritty humor.
Why It Fits Torn:
Encourages more engagement during wars — every fight carries a little extra thrill of potential reward.
Adds new layers to the economy through collectible trading.
Perfectly complements Torn’s tone: cynical, crime-ridden, and rewardingly chaotic.
Even without stat bonuses, these items could become a badge of honor for veterans of major wars — something for collectors to chase and traders to profit from.
Just wanted to throw it out there as a potential addition to Torn’s already brilliant ecosystem.
Crazy how you managed so much so fast! I wish I had the drive to push the trader role more…. I was trying to do some banner creation stuff but have toned that down….. good luck with marking it into the top 100 in year 2!
Appreciate the concern, as I already was aware of the book type available, it started mainly as a joke with my faction mate hence the Hotdog down the Hallway theme…. And figured the buff was fitting. I don’t actually think it would go anywhere but wanted to have fun with it! I do understand where you’re coming from. 👍
