Just sharing in case anyone has the same issue:
FFscouter version: 2.69.1
Browser: Firefox

ReferenceError: $ is not defined

the problem: "$" is not defined
since the script is large and heavily uses "$"(jQuery) i added this inside userscript header:
// @require https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.7.1.min.js
This forces the userscript manager (Tampermonkey/Violentmonkey/Greasemonkey) to load jQuery first and inject it into the userscript environment before the script runs, which resolves the "$" not defined in Firefox.
