Hello, people! I've played Torn every single day since last September, and for years before that I had a game idea floating in my head: lowest unique bet wins the pot. I work in cybersecurity in real life, so I built this carefully and tested it thoroughly. It's called LUBE: Lowest Unique Bet Euphoria. One round a day. Pick a number, fund it with cash, and whoever holds the lowest unique number wins the entire pool.
═ Now running on cash ═
Heads up if you're reading older comments or browsing closed rounds: up until now LUBE ran on Xanax - 1 Xanax per bet. From today it runs on cash, at $10,000 per bet. Every round in the history before the switch was played and paid in Xanax and still displays that way - that's not a mistake, it's just how those rounds ran. Balances carry over per currency, so any Xanax you already have on the site stays yours.
The tension: pick too low and someone might tie you out; pick high to stay unique and someone below you takes the pot. That's the whole game.
$10,000 per bet. One round a day, closes 12:00 TCT.
═ Launch promo: $1,000,000 minimum prize pool ═
To kick the cash era off, from 1 September to 7 September every round carries a guaranteed minimum prize pool of $1,000,000. If the pot comes in under a million, I top it up out of my own pocket, and the winner still walks away with the full million. Seven rounds, seven guarantees.
═ How to play ═
Register once at tornlu.be with your public Torn API key. It's read-only and least-permission; it just confirms who you are.
Set your bet on the My Bets page. It's encrypted right there in your browser before it ever leaves your device.
Send $10,000 to TimTommerson [3936502] to fund it. The message doesn't matter anymore, your bet comes only from the site.
Allow up to 2 minutes for a send to show up as balance on your My Bets page.
Example:
George bets 3, Duke bets 3, Leslie bets 5, M'aol bets 9.
George and Duke both picked 3 - not unique. Leslie wins with 5. M'aol's 9 is unique but not the lowest.
═ Balances roll over ═
Cash you send sits as a balance and never resets. Leftover carries to future rounds. Win, and you can take the payout or hold it as balance to fund your next bets. Nothing is lost between rounds.
═ Rules ═
Only your last bet per round counts.
If nobody has a unique number, the house keeps the pool - no prize that round.
Prize is sent within 24 hours (usually much faster).
Only registered players' sends are counted. Unregistered sends are ignored.
═ Provably fair: your bet is unreadable, even by me ═
Every bet is timelock-encrypted in your browser, locked to a drand beacon that only publishes the unlock key after the round closes.
Nobody can see your number until close - not other players, not me, not the server. It's cryptographically sealed, not "trust me bro".
When the round ends, every bet decrypts in the open and anyone can verify the winner.
═ Transparency ═
During an open round you can see who is betting and a live prize pool counter, but not what anyone bet. After close, all bets are revealed. Every past round is public and permanently visible on the site, anyone can go back and check every winner, every bet, every round. If you're skeptical, the history speaks for itself.
Hello, people! I've been playing Torn every single day since last September - and for years before that I had this game idea floating in my head: lowest unique bet wins the pot. I'm familiar with coding (mostly Python and HTML), and with AI tools accelerating development I finally put it together in a few weeks. I work in the cybersecurity industry in real life, so I built this carefully and tested it thoroughly. The game is called LUBE: Lowest Unique Bet Euphoria. Every day a new round opens. Send Xanax to me with a number in your message - whoever has the lowest unique number wins the entire pool.
═ How to play ═
Register once at https://tornlu.be using your Torn API key. A Public key is enough - it's read-only.
Send any amount of Xanax to TimTommerson [3936502] with a whole number (1 or higher) in your message.
Your bet is the number in the message. How much Xanax you send doesn't matter - only the number counts.
Rounds close daily at 12:00 TCT. Bets are hidden until then.
The player with the lowest number that nobody else picked wins the full pool.
Allow up to 2 minutes for your bet to appear on your My Bets page.
Example:
George bets 3, Duke bets 3, Leslie bets 5, M'aol bets 9.
George and Duke both picked 3 - not unique.
Leslie wins with 5. M'aol's 9 is unique but not the lowest.
═ Rules ═
Only your last bet per round counts. Earlier Xanax is kept by the house - treat it as the cost of changing your mind.

Only registered players' sends are counted. Unregistered sends are ignored.
═ Provably fair ═
Every bet is cryptographically committed the moment it's placed. The site records a SHA256 hash of your bet before the round closes - not the number itself, just the hash. After the round closes, the salt is revealed and anyone can verify their bet was recorded honestly. The host cannot change your bet number mid-round. You can verify your own bet any time on your My Bets page using the salt and hash shown there.

Since noone won in the last 2 rounds (both players betted the same number), I added a new functionality.
Instead the house keeping the prize in such cases, now the prize rolls over to the next round(s) until someone wins. So now round#75 has a $20,000 extra on top of any bets. This means that even if just 1 player bets this round, they win $30k (their $10k+$20k).
Once there is a big player base who are constantly playing, I can introduce a small fee, for example I keep 1 Xanax from the pool each round. But in the beginning, while almost noone is playing the game, I am not going to do that.
