Reading this thread made me stop using AI.

Context: saw a silly-looking trade ad (read the quoted text in my 3rd message) and wanted to do some light prodding:

Never let go of your dreams! Even when being down on your luck and living inside of a shark, always remember that if you work hard you will succeed <3 

Note: not sharing the name. I understand that, for some people, English might not be their first language, as it wasn't mine either. We shouldn't be mean about it. Still found this a little funny in a lighthearted way tho and I genuinely wish this person well. 

Happy Halloweek, all you degenerates of Torn! I hope everyone is getting lots of treats and not getting into too much trouble. I had a few minutes in between hospital trips and thought of something that I wanted to share with y'all.  

For a game that has been around as long as Torn has, the lingo needs to occasionally occasionally evolve in order to keep things fresh. 

My proposal is as follows: make "Bounce" a thing for when someone attacks you and loses. It's already embarrassing enough when it happens, but what if we could make it even more so with a new slang term, an alternative to "a free defend"? 

Examples:

• "He was talking big in wc but he's been real quiet since bouncing."
• "This noob thought he could mug...he just bounced off me lmao."
• "Nice bounce, idiot." <--- toxicity not endorsed, but you know it'll happen anyway

The thing is, when you have a successful defend, it really does feel like they harmlessly bounced off of you. It's a good feeling. I've personally been using this when talking about (the extremely few) successful defends my nooby ass has gotten so far lol.

So, what do you guys and gals think? Is it time to shake up the lingo meta, or should we not fix it if it ain't broke? 

I'm currently posting this with TornTools enabled.

This is the first time I've seen this bug, but it was pretty funny lol. Task failed successfully vibes.

2. Rehab Saturday / early Sunday so we can look good for company evaluation day, especially if at 10 addiction or above (if you can see the brain icon, that's me getting a headache). 

What are you paying us? 

Wages until 3*, job perks after. 

How will trains work? 

Free rotational trains until 3*, paid ones @600k after, with some free ones occasionally.

What are your plans for the company? 

I started the company from scratch and am trying to grow it to 7-8*. I won't be charging any edvd taxes.  

Are you a qualified Director?

I think so, I completed all relevant education and bought the stock blocks. The company should rank up fairly quickly.

Fuck AI slop. People are becoming too reliant on it, and not bothering to even think for themselves anymore, let alone learn a useful skill or connect with someone who already has. 

If you used AI, it's not yours. There's no skill involved, and your level of achievement and effort is beneath 4-year-old Jimmy's fucken 30-second crayon-drawn stick figure fridge photo. If that's how you choose to represent yourself as an adult, then I feel sorry for ya. Pick up a pencil, eat a crayon, write a print statement, touch some grass, do something with that brain before you have to end up asking chatGPT how to tie your damn shoes
