As a 4th generation Florida man, I'd like to give thanks to all the snowbirds who come down all year every year and really just wreck the traffic patterns and any hope of getting anywhere in a timely manner to them. I really looked to them as an inspiration in exactly how to achieve this momentous achievement.
I knew coming into this race that it'd be a tough one, and I have to give it up to RJmanX for really making this a tough race. I was in constant fear of overtaking him and losing my... whatever the opposite word for a lead is. The entire race I was sitting on the edge of my floorboards, which I removed the seats to ensure that I could barely see over the steering wheel, just like those snowbirds who were such a guiding beacon for me.
Also, I want to thank Piccolo, CharmRiver, Skarr02, and the entire crew at Torn City's Dollar Sales. They really put together an event that put a spotlight and let me shine on just how bad I am at driving. Without the TCDS's ingenuity and effort to make sure that even a total shit-bird like me can somehow stumble onto the prize podium, I wouldn't be where I am today.
Thank you, TCDS for hosting such amazing events. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's event and touching grass. Even though there's no podium or prizes, I'm still going to do my best to make sure that I fail as spectacularly as possible, in the manner that you have all come to expect.

Has anyone got any thoughts on the black market/contraband fluctuations that we've so far seen, and the possible fluctuations that have yet to be seen? So far, we've only seen fairly minor increases/decreases in item prices from refill to refill.
My primary question is regarding this size of the fluctuations. Do we think there will be periodic, larger, longer lasting fluctuations (maybe days to even week-long), with smaller refill-to-refill fluctuations? Like a major shift causes an item to spike 30% in price for a month, but refill-to-refill it fluctuates up or down by 1-2% or something?
The primary reason I'm wondering about this is because I was thinking about bear gall. The item is a 3-4k profit right now, which is less than the profit from a jaguar at almost half the travel time. Is bear gall currently on a "high fluctuation," and seeing minor refill-to-refill adjustments? Or are the fluctuations Ched referred to in his announcement the ones that we're seeing.
From what Ched described, I was picturing much larger fluctuations than the ones we've collected so far that could really change whether or not a trip was profitable, break even, or possibly even a loss. Because right now, the fluctuations haven't been enough to really make me reconsider changing my routes because that item happens to be ~1% more or less expensive.
Are they starting the fluctuations out small, to monitor how players react to them?
If so, are they planning to increase the size of the fluctuations?
Was releasing zip ties back in Mexico part of an experiment to see how those affected the market?
Or is bear gall just the dahlia of Canada? Because I thought PVC cards were already the dahlia of Canada.
I had an amazing time at TornCon, my only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer. Next year I’m definitely going to lock it in and try to book for the entire trip.
Not only are the odds crazy, but you both had the money to make the most out of a hand like that. Imagine if it had been in like a hobo Holdem room or something. That kind of showdown deserves a pot like that.
Looking at OP’s time played, I honestly doubt it was intentional and I wouldn’t be surprised that he genuinely didn’t know how chains and chain bonuses work. I know I messed up my first time in a RW, but it was like 10 or 25. Maybe both, I was full of E and racking up the chain hits overseas, trying to get as many hits in as I could before someone squashed me with my tiny BS into the ground, lol.
You are already a badass. Congrats, I’m finally hitting the part where the stat snowball is starting to become noticeable, I can’t wait to hit a 100m, lol. I can’t imagine what 1T feels like. You put some serious time and effort in and it’s paid off. I love it.
