Which Education Should I Take First? EXPLAINED! · · 1 like

Hello! Starting on the Education system in Torn (Torn City) is a smart move. Where you begin depends on your primary goal in the game, but there are two main strategies the community generally agrees on for new players.

Here are the two most popular starting paths:

1. Strategy: Sports Science (Long-Term Stat Growth)

This is the most common and generally most recommended path.

  • Why? Completing the Sports Science courses permanently increases the stats (strength, speed, defense, dexterity) you gain from training in the gym.

  • The Advantage: The earlier you start this, the longer you benefit from these bonuses. Your extra stat gains will compound, making you much stronger in the long run. Torn is all about stats, so this is a fantastic investment.

2. Strategy: Biology (Immediate Benefit & Combat)

This is also a very popular alternative, especially if you want to see immediate benefits or plan to participate in combat.

  • Why? You take the "Introduction to Biology" course and immediately follow it with the "Intravenous Therapy" course.

  • The Advantage: Finishing this course gives you the ability to draw and use blood bags. Blood bags are much more effective than standard first-aid kits and are vital, especially in wars or during heavy training. You can also draw your own blood and sell it to make money early on.

The Most Common Hybrid Method (Recommended)

Most experienced players recommend this path:

  1. First, take Introduction to Biology.

  2. Immediately after, complete Intravenous Therapy. (This unlocks the blood bag ability).

  3. Stop the rest of Biology and immediately switch to Sports Science and complete all the courses in that category.

  4. After Sports Science is finished, you can go back to finish Biology or take other courses that interest you (like those that improve crime success).

With this method, you quickly unlock the very important blood bag ability early in the game while also starting your investment in long-term stat growth as soon as possible.

Extra Tip: It is highly recommended to spend your first "merit" points on the upgrades that reduce Education time. This will speed up the entire process.
