Supp good people,

I’ve been working on a new tool to make life easier for anyone who lists items on the Torn Item Market. Basically, it’s a helper app that saves you from manually checking prices, calculating averages, digging through the market, or doing spreadsheet gymnastics every time you want to list something.

Yes, I know there are already apps and scripts out there with similar features but I’m currently studying this kind of stuff (data parsing, APIs, analytics…), so I wanted to give it a shot and build my own version from scratch just for fun and learning. And it turned out to be pretty useful.

You can try it here:

What does it actually do?

Super simple:

1. Go to Item Market → Add Listing.

Copy everything you see there: item names, quantities, RRP, equipped tags, untradables—the whole chaotic wall of text.

2. Paste it into the app.

The tool cleans the text, keeps only what matters (item name + quantity), and automatically ignores:

  • Untradable items

  • Equipped items

  • All the UI junk from the Add Listing page (RRP, buttons, “Make my listing anonymous,” etc.)

3. It figures out what each item is, even if the text is messy.

It uses a custom dictionary + fuzzy matching, so even badly formatted names still get recognized.

The dictionary comes from a full JSON dump I generated using Torn’s API. It includes every item in the game, but obviously it’ll need updates whenever Torn pushes new items or patches.

4. Using your public API key, it queries the Torn itemmarket endpoint and pulls the first 100 sell listings for each item.

I’m currently experimenting with several approaches to extract more complete market data behind the scenes.

5. With that data, it calculates everything for you:

  • min/max price

  • weighted average

  • mean price for the first 20 units

  • market depth

  • spread & volatility

  • fee impact

  • recommended listing price and net profit

All nicely formatted, neatly structured, and downloadable as CSVs.

Why is this useful?

Because checking every item manually in the market feels like playing Torn in 2007.
Paste your list, hit Run, and instantly get recommended listing prices based on real-time market data.

What’s coming next?

I’m actively working on:

  • A smarter parser that understands more complex inventory formats

  • UI upgrades to make the final summary more accessible and less “spreadsheet-like”

  • Better detection of quantities, name variants, merges, and messy formatting

  • A “quick summary” mode showing total potential profit from listing everything

  • Experimental methods to bypass the 10-entry API limit and pull deeper market data

I haven't tested for compatibility with other tools like Tornstats, but it will most likely cause some issues during inventory parsing; it's something I'll work on in the future.

If you want to try it out or have feedback, I’m all ears.

Frankly, I've been looking for ways to avoid having to include the API in the form more than once, as is the case with Baldr's tool.  Changed and worked locally, not pushed to GitHub till someore realized.

Of course, I'm aware that many tools do similar (and better) things; I'm simply testing different free web app service providers like Railway or Streamlit for these simple implementations, so I can access them instantly from my mobile device or anywhere else.

I'm sorry if my limited vocabulary doesn't meet your expectations, as English is not my native language ;)

You're absolutely right. In testing, I've experienced rate limit issues above 10, but that was before the refactoring.

I just checked, and what you said is correct; it no longer returns information after the 101st element.

For now, I'll limit the query to 100 entries.

A sensational third paragraph xD. But what's wrong with explaining that it's read-only? Not everyone needs to know that beforehand.

You guys are absolutely right. I completely forgot to refactor the per-session cache.

It should work correctly now. Thanks for pointing it out.
