I should preface this post with that I am generally not a fan of gambling, and I believe that the rising prevalence of sports betting and prediction markets in the real world will only be a net negative overall. That being said, when real money is not changing hands, and buy-ins require in-game currency or items only, I don't see any glaring issues with making bets. By extension, I do not think that allowing third party casinos to exist is necessarily bad. However, I do think that some degree of transparency should be required by those running casinos. It becomes much easier to know whether or not a casino is legitimate when you can see for yourself if the actual payouts are aligning with the posted win rates. This would also discourage predatory third party casinos, as those with more generous odds would be likely to receive more traffic and players.
