When I first arrived in Torn, I was extremely skeptical about playing Torn but now its extremely fascinating due to its countless mechanics, strategies and above all it doesn't need huge time commitment.
Welcome to Torn, and good luck! Before getting started few things you need to know
1.Green Leaf - Protection from players older than 14 days for those below 14 days
2.Energy - Used for training Battle stats(Gym), Attacks for experience
3.Nerve - Crimes
4.Happiness - The more the happiness The more Stat gains while training(resets to your maximum every 15 min if its over the limit)
5.Level - Increases Max Health, Every elements unlocks upon reaching level 15, There is no other use
6.Cooldowns - Applied for Boosters, Medical, Drug Items thus limiting number of uses beware of it.
7.Merits - Used for various Perks
Getting Started
Don't backout when you haven't even take your first step
1)Complete the Starting Missions - Why?
It helps you understand the interface, features, and basic mechanics of the game. Take your time. For Many of you this may be your first Text based game
2)Get a Job - Which?
Beginner job Army is highly recommended because it gives battle stats through job points which is useful for getting to level 15.
After that you can join player owned companies that provides better perks and money
3)Start Education Immediately - why? which?
Education takes real time, so starting early gives long-term benefits.
BIOLOGY → BIO1340: Introduction to Biochemistry → BIO2127: Intravenous Therapy
This unlocks the ability to use blood bags, which is extremely useful.
4)Join an Active Faction - Why?
Factions provide free guidance, organized crimes, chains, and sometimes free items or support.
Growth & Progress
Torn is about consistency. You cannot become strong or rich in one night unless your Luck allows
1)Use All Your Energy - Why?
Energy is your main growth resource. Never let it stay full.
2)Attack for Experience and Level up - Why?
Attacking is the fastest way to level up to 15 (important milestone for making money by unlocking travel).There will be 3 options as follows after winning Select only leave
- Leave - More experience
- Mug - Steal Money on wallet
- Hospitalize - Send them to hospital for few hrs
3)Train in the Gym - Why?
Improves your stats and makes you stronger in fights.
4)Merits - What?
Gained from reaching certain milestone or meeting recquirements

Nerve regenerates slowly, so wasting it slows your progress.

Crimes give money, items, and crime experience to unlock better crimes.

1)Selling Losses - What?
Many players pay money for losing to them around $250000 - $450000. HIGHLY NOT RECOMENDED IT WASTES YOUR PRECIOUS ENERGY. Especially Don't go around selling it for 30k or 50k
2)Selling Items from Crimes - Why?
Crimes often give items that can be sold in the Item Market for profit.
3)Buy From NPC shops - Why?
Daily limit 100. items from pharmacy, super store and other shops. Buy low and sell high. Even small trades can build steady income.
4)Faction Organized Crimes - Why?
They give good payouts and rewards when completed successfully.
5)Travel Trading (Unlocks at Level 15) - Why?
Buy cheap items abroad and sell them for profit in Torn City. One of the best money-making methods.
6)City Findings - what?
Go to city -> map ,Items may appear randomly check it out regularly. you may find items worth few dollars to hundreds of millions of dollars
7)Daily Activity Matters - Why?
Logging in and staying active gives small but consistent income over time.

Money Management
Torn has many muggers who has eye on your money. Its better to keep it safe or they will lure you with a candy and then mug you
1)Save Your Money - Why?
Early money is valuable the first savings can be used for renting Private Island that provides 4200 happiness which significantly impacts your growth. Spending carelessly slows your progress.
2)Deposit Cash - Why? Where?
Carrying too much cash means you are asking for mugging.
- In Bank-you cannot take it out till duration ends
- In Faction Vault - You need to ask your leaders to get it back
- In Cayman Islands - Only after reaching Level 15.
3)Learn the Item Market - Why?
Understanding prices helps you avoid losses, scams and even make profit.
4)Avoid Gambling - Why?
Most beginners lose money. It’s risky even with experience.

1)Stay Active Daily with Multiple Logins - Why?
Even 10–15 minutes a day helps steady growth. Use your Energy and Nerve efficiently throughout the day. Recommended to login at least once every 5 hrs.
2)Read Forums and Ask Questions - Why?
Do it in your free time, hospital time. The community is helpful, and learning faster saves time.
