I arrived here recently and started noticing that there are players who don’t level up, but have their BS way up high.
Like the story of “Robert”, that nerdy kid, skinny, with thick glasses, acne and braces, who had been in love with his best friend since he was 14, and at 22, sees her receiving an engagement ring from Fabricio, the most popular guy at the university.
Robert writes a letter declaring his whole love story to her.
Her response was silence. For months she no longer replied to his messages, and Robert became sad and disappointed by the longing, so alone, missing her company and her laughter… But he never received a single call.
He went to Belinda’s house.
Belinda left a note saying he was not made for her, and that she aspired to someone more aligned with her desires. That she had never seen him that way, and that he was very mistaken. Even a bit harsh in her argument.
Robert was in mourning.
He deleted his Instagram photos, removed his profile picture, deleted contacts, changed his phone, he disappeared.
Level 15 and with 20k BS.
He enters a training routine and focuses on himself. For a year, low profile. A monster was created.
And then, on a winter day, a random Level 25 opponent stops him on the street and confronts him.
Robert promised himself that no one would ever underestimate him again.
The opponent attacks, and Robert dodges with a forward flip, and drives his Katana from ear to ear into his rival.
No chance. No mercy.
Months later, Robert met Belinda again, alone, crying in a square. She said:
“Oh Robert, - que guapo estás!!* how handsome you are”*… (*I didn’t say Belinda was Spanish, did I?)
“Gracias, Belinda, you as beautiful as always,” said Robert. (I also didn’t say Robert was the son of a Bolivian and a Japanese immigrants in Brazil, did I?)
“Why are you crying, Belinda?”
“Fabricio kicked me out of the PI, I dropped my Happiness by like 4k, I’m in debt with the faction, they caught me stealing job points at the company where I worked… I had to go back to the casino… now I have enemies mugging me every time I leave work… but, i know... you’re not going to help me anymore, right?”
And then, Robert, in a gentle gesture, wipes her tears with a silk handkerchief made of raccoon fur (I don’t know), and says:
“Message ignored successfully.”
Without saying anything else, he leaves the handkerchief with her, stands up and walks away.
The image pulls back, he walks away down the street with his back turned, and the camera focuses on Belinda bleeding from her ears on the sidewalk in the foreground.
Robert taught you today that you don’t need to be a shower to get revenge on those who underestimated you.
The grower works from the inside.
Now it’s time to focus on training and I’m not going to level up anymore! My time is coming. Wait for me
