You sure have a way with words Mr.TheBailer. I sensed this kind of behavior from you when you kept $50,000,000 more from the sale of my faction than agreed upon. Alas, I let it slide, that was my 2nd mistake after accepting your application to join. I thought, "What is $50mil in the grand scheme of things, the dude helped me out by sticking around the old faction as leader while we transitioned to our new home-he could've sent me nothing". What can I say, I was trying this whole optimism thing...anyway, TheBailer wants to post stories, so I feel obligated to share some truth with you all.
SO, let's back it up to around September 5th, when I extended an invitation to my fellow Keyboard Warriors to join up and fight the good fight with access to unlimited medical supplies and Xanax for stacking E. Many others were contributing billions to the cause, which I didn't have at the time. I did what I could with the resources I had. A few joined and left, and I believe 6 stayed (one being TheBailer) after the competition ended. I'd had hopes that some would stick around and serve under the FEAR flag, but my loyalty was to the entire KBW team at the time, and not to my previously dusty old faction. It felt good when the competition ended and some genuinely good personalities stuck around to see what happened with FEAR...and probably for the free stuff, but hell, they are my people and I'm gonna share the wealth.
TheBailer's story with FEAR starts with an application without a message of any sort, but he was a KBW so I accepted him with open arms. Not until after the competition did he and I even communicate. I served him like the others with an endless supply of..well...supplies during the competition. As the highest level on my crew at the time I decided to engage in dialogue with this stranger who had been in my faction for a few weeks already. I told him he was welcome to stay. He proved helpful in the fact that at first, he was providing advice our low level members and showing a real respect for everyone, never holding his higher level or stats over another's head. He began to show initiative and I granted him additional privileges, and he served the faction well by assisting in the planning and initiation of organized crimes during my RL work times. I appreciated this and considered him as the first member of my leadership team.
While TheBailer was enjoying an unlimited supply of free Xanax, refills, blood bags, and pretty much everything save for cans and FHC (not that rich), I was spending my time on Torn trying to find more good people to join the crew. I stressed over a forum post for days and days before settling, pumped out classified ads, sought out designers (ultimately retreating to my own limited photoshop abilities) and stalked the "Seeking faction" post in Faction Discussion. I picked up a few newer citizens, and provided them as much guidance as I could so that they could someday reach their potential--something many of us, myself included are still striving for. It was hard though, so many seasoned players want the best perks and don't care about the work it takes to get there or desire to experience it themselves. This was disheartening, as I thought we needed more big players to be successful. I was wrong, but I'll get to that closer to the end of this unintended novel.
Feeling disheartened by what I thought were minimal results from my recruiting efforts; realizing it would take years to get to a point where high level players would actually want to be a part of FEAR without knowing us, I decided to invest a large portion of my recent lotto winnings ($6.6b) into getting us a pimped out new hangout. Ring in FEAR round 2, our new home which I spent a good portion of my newfound fortune to acquire. It took a couple weeks of internal debating and before I bit that bullet, but the amount of unlocked perks available to us made it well worth the investment. I did however hope to sell the previous faction, which we'd (by we I mean the collective membership of FEAR) built up from 77k to just over 80k. The purchase of the new faction had stalled a few times, so honestly when I finally made the deal we weren't quite ready. Surprisingly it went like clockwork though, and every member of our crew migrated into the new faction. Delightful!
The purchase of the new faction before the sale of the current faction complicated things. I needed someone I could trust to hold down the old fort and facilitate the transfer of said faction to the new buyer. A buyer that I sought out, haggled with, and ultimately came to agreement with to an amount lesser than that which I'd hoped to get--however, I wanted TheBailer to be able to enjoy the perks of the new faction sooner rather than later, and didn't want to inconvenience him further since he was doing me a huge favor to begin with. Frankly at that point I didn't want to piss him off and end up not getting anything out of the old faction, so I pushed the sale to a lowballer and got what I could out of it, and got my potential co-leader settled into his new home. I told TheBailer he could keep $100,000,000 of the $350m selling price in return for making the trade and sending me the remaining $250m so that I could put it towards more supplies for our armories. When the deal was done, I received $200m from him--$50m short of what I'd expected, that raised a red flag for me but I shrugged it off to my peril.
Anyway, TheBailer continued helping us keep organized crimes going (a task he was not alone in handling, alongside myself and two other experienced members). He randomly donated two diamond bladed knives and a swiss army knife that he found in the city, and has filled plenty of armory news pages with his use of all the free stuff he got in return for his loyalty.
I've got a great crew full of fiercely loyal members. We might not be level 100 with billions and billions of stats but I'll take these people any day. TheBailer was disrespectful and as someone I was considering for an official leadership position I was very disappointed to see how he was treating the good people I've worked so hard to bring together. I expressed, respectfully at first, that he should have taken a less aggressive approach to creating the change he wanted to see. He didn't like this, went on a tirade with me, and admittedly I said some harsh words after, he's not the only one with a mean typing hand--I think he thought I would take his side simply because he's so freaking awesome I guess. He left the faction in a fit of rage and attacked a number of members including myself. Then demanded his "contributions" be returned and I would never hear from him again. Some bounties were made and words exchanged, I clicked the ignore button fully expecting a rage flare up. He didn't disappoint.
Frankly TheBailer, you can go spend a few mil on some extra knives if you want them so bad. I've spent too much time on you as it is. I'm just happy I didn't give you any real power to trip on! You probably would have gutted my crew. Best of luck to you though, FEAR will be just fine.
