OK. Wow. Hello again, Narcissius.
For the record, I'm not part of the 'GFX Lounge' and everyone who is will readily say so. As Ahmad said, I'm merely some random dipshit who lurks the forums when I get bored because it's a better alternative than the algorithmic drivel that is 2026 SocMed.

This is about the extent of the talents I'm comfortable sharing when it comes to visual artistry. Picasso, I am not. Lumping me in with the wonderful designers that tie their name to the GFX Lounge is really just another attempt by Ahmad to insult them.

But since you can't keep my name out of your mouth after your attempts to bait me by mocking me in my DMs and by putting bounties on me for expressing my opinions of you in the forums and trying to collect on you (You know, playing the game)...

Would trying to publicly shittalk someone you blocked be considered harassment? I don't really care; I like it when things are out in the open for everyone to see, but it's goddamn weird.
...

A lover of the 1st Amendment Ahmad is not.

A coincidence? Maybe, but I wasn't receiving non-war related bounties prior to my attempt to collect on Ahmad, and no one else had put significant bounties on me after him.

Guess I'll have to clear up some things, because Ahmad's saying a whole lot of things about me regarding the way I think and how I conduct myself. And that's pissing me off a bit because of how utterly wrong he is.
Ahmad is only shittalking me because I have openly called him a plagiarist and an art thief. I'm too lazy to repost the thread clickies that prove Ahmad as a plagarist, but they're on my profile for posterity and to make sure Ahmad can't duck from what he did. Changed my mind. Clickies for you! I have never embargoed Ahmad. I have never disrupted his flights. I have never attacked his Happy. I have never reached out to his faction and job to get him thrown out. I have never engaged in any campaigns to stiff him of potential customers. All of this is slander that Ahmad implicates me with by putting my name in this pathetic attempt of a callout post. Again, I'm a fan of transparency, so here you go.

I very briefly considered ignoring him myself, but changed my mind because I was curious to see how he would respond to me. But outside of that, I've never gone out of my way to screw with the chump. I'm not in any services Discord like BHG, HIVE, other affairs, and I've never bought such services on an individual basis. Scout's Honor.
Truth be told, I was kind of thinking about dropping Ahmad as an enemy because after everything was said and done, I didn't really feel like spending more energy on them, thief as they are. But since they can't fucking help themselves and not drag people into drama... That plan's changed.

OK. So you didn't bully him, Dispy. What's your point?
Beyond calling out a lying piece of shit art thief for the brittle spined scumsucker that they are, I mostly want to clear the air about my broader opinions about GenAI and its place here in TORN, since Dipshit McGee wants to cry and shout that the only reason I dislike him is because and ONLY because he uses GenAI.
I am not a neo-luddite as some of the clanker lovers want to espouse. In fact, I am a cybersecurity nerd by study and hobby. I'm also a pretty big literature and tabletop dork (If the account theme wasn't enough of a tipoff). By proxy, that has allowed me to meet many wonderful storytellers and artists over the years. The discussions about the prevalence of GenAI since the very early days of DALL-E is something I can't avoid in my social circles. And while I have expressed my general displeasure about GenAI elsewhere, allow me to let you in on a little secret. You ready?
You sure? OK.
I've cranked out prompts myself. Primarily through Midjourney, and mostly to help me get the broader details of a character I want to commission for a tabletop game, or the vibes of a scene I want to build upon with a friend of mine for their campaigns. But I've pressed the funny magic picture generator button. I'm a dirty clanker user too.
But that means I know what generating images entails. It's not an afternoon's worth of hard work involving esoteric knowledge of the LLM and constantly grinding away at fine details to get the perfect results. It is, at best, intermediate technical writing utilizing keywords and weights to shunt out broad depictions while you pick the best result to form the baseline for the next set of details and processing you want to crank out. It's a wholly uninvolved process that, with the right model, does every bit of legwork for you.
And that's not a good thing. It turns artistry into a rote, bog standard commodity. It strips away the exploration, the expression of the human mind and its intricacies ans processes and viewpoints, and exchanges it with... Generic dopamine. Generic dopamine shunted out by systems that, in a twisted, hellish irony, were built by the digital Smithsonians and Louvres and Alexandrias the creators so desperately want to burn down before paywalling the pale fascimilies that come after. And I find the narrative that this is something that should be embraced to be terrifying; exchanging the human expression for the convenience of machine learned genericism is a societal and cultural death that I don't think we should accept so readily.
But...
I also get it. I get why GenAI is used. And hells, while a lot of it is eerie slop that never looks right, I'll admit there's a certain je ne sais quoi to it when it's embraced with a sort of whimsy and lightheartedness to it. My faction has made pieces that have made me laugh and joke, and it does make playful banter in the game more amusing.
But it shouldn't be the stand-in for your individual expression and identity. It's OK to doodle; it's OK to slap together a few terrible image edits and post them as a meme in all the derailed threads in GD. It's OK to make your banners and profile pictures and forum signatures some early 2000s era digital color vomit that wouldn't stand out against a jarhead's Crayola lunch. It probably won't look great. Hells, it probably won't look good.
But it's yours, isn't it? It's yours and it's an expression of you and what you are, and I know this is gonna be some corny, rainhows-and-glitter type shit, but damn it that's beautiful and you should create more things because there are people who want to see it and will encourage you to keep going. There are people who will happily put the brakes on everything they're doing to give you pointers and guides on how to keep going. It's my understanding that the GFX Lounge is all about doing that.
GenAI isn't going to go away, I know that. But you don't have to use GenAI to make something meaningful and wonderful. Art only ever needs to be appreciated by one person for it to have merit. That person can just be you, you know.
But if that's too much, too early, I understand that too, and I won't blame you for asking your choice of GenAI to make something simply for your own enjoyment. Just don't be a bitter and vindictive plagarist who feeds the artwork of their critics into their LLM as revenge.
Don't be fucking Ahmad. Rotten inbred scrotum of a human being.
