I am a university student and also a Torn City player. Recently, I completed my final year university project by building a travel calculator application specifically for Torn. I am sharing this app here in the hopes that it can help players, especially new players or those who frequently travel to buy items overseas.
⚠️ Important Note Before Using: Just a quick reminder, this app serves purely as a tool. We all know that overseas item stocks are highly volatile—sometimes they sell out instantly, sometimes they are normal. Therefore, this app is designed to provide estimations, not absolute guarantees.
How to Use The usage is quite simple as it directly uses the Torn City API. After logging in, you will be presented with the Travel page where you can select the country and the item you are looking for.
🌟 Key Feature: Notification System via ntfy
main highlight of this app is its notification system. As a mandatory requirement, you must install the ntfy app on your smartphone and create an ntfy topic so that this application can integrate and send push messages. To use it:
Install the [ntfy.sh](https://ntfy.sh/) app on your smartphone.
Create a custom ntfy topic so the application can send real-time alerts.
Interestingly, if your smartphone is connected to a smartwatch, these notifications will automatically pop up on your smartwatch as well!
Currently, the active notifications you can use are:
Hospital: Notifies you of your status when you are admitted to the hospital.
Before Leaving Hospital: Detects and alerts you right before you are released from the hospital.
Departure Time & 5 Minutes Before Landing: Notifies you of the best time to depart (fly now) and detects when you are 5 minutes away from arriving at your destination. (Note: This feature requires you to enable subscribe on the item as an indicator based on your choice).
System Limitations & Support (Donations) For your information, because this app was built on a student budget, I am using a server with very minimal/limited specifications. Therefore, the notification feature can currently only be active for 1 item at a time.
To keep this application running smoothly, I have opened a donation channel within the app. Donations from friends here are highly appreciated and will be allocated entirely to extending the server's active period and improving the app's performance.
