🎣 Going for the “Gone Fishing” merit (get defeated by a trout)? I’ve got you covered! 🎣
If you're new and need help, just send me a message first so we can coordinate for lvl 5 and below. Then you can attack me, and I’ll make sure you get properly bonked by a trout to complete the merit.
Quick, easy, and beginner-friendly—just don’t forget to message before attacking so I can get the trout ready!
Tight lines and good luck 🎣
Hello,
I’d like to suggest adding an optional experience (EXP) progress indicator to the game interface.
Currently, leveling progression in Torn is entirely hidden, which adds a sense of mystery, but it also makes it difficult for players to gauge their progress or plan their activity efficiently. This often leads players to rely on external tracking methods or rough estimates, which can feel disconnected from the in-game experience.
A possible improvement would be to introduce a non-intrusive, optional EXP progress indicator, such as:
- A simple progress bar showing approximate advancement toward the next level, or
- A percentage-based indicator (e.g., “Progress to next level: ~65%”) without revealing exact EXP values
To preserve the game’s design philosophy, this feature could:
- Be toggleable in settings for players who prefer the current system
- Display approximate progress only, rather than exact numbers
- Unlock after a certain level, or remain hidden for players who prefer a more traditional Torn experience
Benefits:
- Improves player engagement and motivation by providing visible goals
- Reduces reliance on third-party tools and manual tracking
- Helps newer players better understand progression mechanics
- Maintains flexibility for veterans who enjoy the hidden system
This change would enhance quality of life without removing the unique aspects of Torn’s progression system.
Thank you for considering this suggestion.

Thank you bro for your recommendations, i had read it and got a lot of merits.
thank you agian for your kindness
Good point, thank you for sharing.
I think you have a good point, but as a newer player, it feels like I’m doing a lot without being able to measure my progress or tell which approach is actually better for my progression.
Thank you for your encouragement, and your point of view.
Hello,
I think there’s a bit of a misunderstanding here.
My suggestion isn’t about making the game easier or handing out rewards like money or stat enhancers.
What I’m proposing is simply a way to see progression more clearly—something that’s already a standard feature in most games. It doesn’t change how fast you level, how much EXP you gain, or give any gameplay advantage. It just makes the existing system more transparent and engaging.
Also, this is just a suggestion, everyone is free to agree or disagree, but comparing a basic UI improvement to getting “a trillion dollars” feels a bit off-topic.
At the end, the goal is to improve player experience, so no need to take this personally.
Thanks for sharing your perspective.
Hello,
Yes I used AI to write well my idea.
Thank you for this new info, but it would be better to track your exp bar after every attack and criminal progress, instead of waiting till lvl 15 and then travel to china to check your progress..
