I'm not doing it for the money, I'm doing it for the action, for myself and certainly some others this game had become very weary and for me personally had dropped low on my daily priorities.
Having something to break the monotony is always nice and can bring back a bit of interest from some of us.
I feel the need to point out that while we're making up 'official' titles there are several hugely important people who have remained silent on the subject of this debate.

At what point do dividend stocks become worthwhile?

When should people be thinking about those dividend stocks, from most of my research they look like they should be way down the list, what are your thoughts/opinions?
in about three years I've gone for months without getting much better then a semi detached house, and then had 2 palaces in one day, I think I've had a total of 2 castles in all that time, but I've recovered the initial investment so all is cool.

OT, yeah the flying thing isn't very realistic, but then I would say that burning down 5000 warehouses and still being allowed to wonder the streets with a lighter isn't very realistic, and lets not even mention selling a single flower for more cash than you can make in a year.

Nope, I assume they are doing it for something, and the merits is the best choice for my assumption.
When you stop at a junction and someone runs out and cleans your window do you assume they are doing it so you can see clearly?
They're probably doing it for money, not too many things that happen in this world are done just for good vibes and positive feelings.
It comes down to personal choice, if you saw a front garden was overgrown would you instantly cut the grass and then ask/hope for payment or would you ask the person if they wanted it cut and if they would be willing to pay for it?
If someone is reviving solely for cash there's a place for that and it's called trade chat.
If I ask for a revive I pay for it, if I don't, I don't.
When I OD on xanax I like the opportunity to munch down 100 small first aid kits before I get revived, sometimes I leave it a day and munch another 100 before I switch my revives on.
If I ask to be revived I pay 1 million, if someone chooses to revive after I change my settings I consider helping them get closer to the merits they seek as my payment.
You can't compare the torn economy to real life, I can earn 3 or 4 billion this year in torn, whereas in real life I'll probably only earn 2 billion this year...

but seriously, if the majority of players earned 25 - 35,000 a year in torn then I'd agree that prices are too high, but the whole time I can jump on a plane a couple of times a day and earn 3 million, prices seem fair.

I once tried to do the math on how many subscribers were curently in the game compared to how many hours in a year to work out why I had subscribed for 3 years and won nothing.
If it says defeat, I defeat, I have nearly always hosped as that is my choice, I don't want to inflate my level with the easy crime experience of attacking and leaving, that does't make me a bad person, I still manage to resist the urge to kick kittens in real life.
Since missions were introduced I have only missed a handful, and in that time I have only come across 1 person who was already hosped, you know what I did, I waited.
Yeah, I waited until they were out of the hospital and then I defeated them.
Guess what, I hosped them.
It's a game, relax if you want to play this game in a way that makes it easier for everyone else who is playing that's your prerogative, not mine.
Have you ever considered that maybe ruining other peoples chances is something that some people enjoy?
Or maybe that some people don't want to level up quickly and would prefer to level more from non attacking based stuff?
Either way, you get three days to do the mission, if you can't find a chance to do what you gotta do in three days, maybe you should consider putting more effort in and not implying that everyone is stupid just because you can't achieve your goals?
