Attacking: A Guide to Weapon Damage ·

How does DAMAGE_STR depend on STRENGTH ?

In this formula there are two factors that seem to depend on STRENGTH

  1. DEF_MIT
  2. DAMAGE_STR

Does this mean that doubling STRENGTH will do more than doubling the damage ?

Hank's Ratio / Baldr's Ratio ·

The pros of Hank's Ratio:

  • Higher gym gain speed (around 5%-7% from my calculations years ago, my memory is foggy) while using the ratio

The advantage is much less.

Compare the following ratios and their effective dots

George's gym

162:162:162:162

7.300 = 648/(162/7.3+162/7.3+162/7.3+162/7.3)

One specialist gym for two stats

180:180:144:144

7.410 = 648/(180/7.5+180/7.5+144/7.3+144/7.3)

Two specialist gyms for two stats (Baldr's ratio)

200:160:144:144

7.554 = 648/(200/8.0+160/7.5+144/7.3+144/7.3)

Two specialist gyms for three stats (Hank's ratio)

180:180:225:63

7.646 = 648/(225/8.0+180/7.5+180/7.5+63/7.3)

Compared to regular gym, Baldr's and Hank's ratios have a relative advantage (in terms of stats growth per energy used) of 3.48% and 4.73%

Compared to a simple strategy with two higher stata, 1.94% and 3.18%

Relative to each other, Hank's ratio is only 1.22% faster stats growth per energy compared to Baldr's ratio.

Because stats growth is exponential the difference can be bigger. See the next image:

~~~ As a noob I don't know what the typical growth per year is once the highest level gyms are reached and how much growth one makes, but I have heard about the cap at 100M which will reduce the monthly gains https://www.torn.com/newspaper.php#!/articles/2336 ~~~
Also interesting will be to include the effect of the gym's gain formula. https://wiki.torn.com/wiki/Gym#Gym_Gains_Formula
Is it based on the specific stat or on the total of all stats?
If it is the total: This might become tricky when one reaches 100M and if that reduces the gain for every stat.
If it is the individual stat: then my formula above for effective dots needs to be adjusted since the gains in the higher stats will be higher due to the exponential growth, and that makes the relative amount of energy spent on that stat less, which makes the bonus less effective.
