guess: the secret rule requires that the first letter of the next brought item starts with the letter that comes after the previous item's first letter. such as Apple > Banjo > Candy > Door > Earring.

it's understood that the cuneiform at the beginning of the sentence translates to nana or ur, the moon god. maybe i'm fixating on the wrong details, but in case "oh dear" means something more than an expression, then perhaps the "riddle" is meant to be formatted as dialogue.

perhaps nanna is talking to someone dear to him, such as his son, 𒀭𒌓, also known as utu or shamash, the sun god.

when the moon sets, the sun rises. when the day ends, or when one runs out of time, a new day begins. so, when nanna wonders where time goes, does it go to his son, the sun? does it go to fresh beginnings and a brand new day? or does time go to come back?

if time goes by, then does time go "bye"?

to add to this, my guess is a circle. nanna is the moon god, and time is often represented by a clock. the moon and a clock are both circular. time is measured in cycles, history is said to repeat. it's all a big loop.

perhaps time didn't go anywhere. you just went out of it, like you said. and if you're out of time, you should head back and seek it out. it only ever moves in one path. 

maybe if you stay in one place, you can catch up to it again. you can wait 12 hours, a day, a week, a month.

even then, i doubt you'd ever stop chasing time, it always keeps moving. time will always be either in front of you, or right behind you; like running after a clock's second hand. but if you're lucky, if you're patient, perhaps one day, you'll be right on time.

these are my best pulls so far. i'm having more fun than i thought i would. will a playable card game be possible someday? maybe something similar to MTG where you equip you city legend (creature) of choice with weapons (artifacts)?

other games that scratch the same itch that i'd recommend or heard of are:

• buriedbornes - a dungeon crawler RPG that, like torn, is more on text-based gameplay with cool graphics
• magium - a decision-making RPG where each choice depends on which stats you choose to train and which path you choose to take
• fallen london - tried it a long time ago but i was too caught up in torn to say much on it. great graphics and UI though
• OGame, titan conquest, and mirage online classic, which i also tried but didn't push through on

i've played a handful of the official games, mainly gen one to four, plus legends of arceus and pokemon go. i've also played delugeprg and pokemon reborn, which is a fangame that's more or less pokemon but in torn city. highly recommend pokemon reborn for being merciless with the gym leader battles.

if i had to make a troll artificer with a fractured identity, i'd go for a troll exiled from his tribe for disrespecting the spirits with his insatiable urge to fuse magic and science together.

in his isolation, the troll spends his time inventing amalgamations of all kinds, blending the arcane with electricity, powering machines fueled by mana, and forging weapons born of circuits and spells. 

at one point, he eagerly sets off in search of artifacts hidden across the land, pursuing more materials for his craft. eventually, he finds a lost relic of legend and brings it home, knowing very little of the item save for rumors of either infinite replication... or endless division.

in his hunger, the troll forewent all caution and focused solely on the relic's potential. the moment his hammer struck upon the item, a disastrous flash of light exploded from within its core. the last thing he remembers before blacking out is the distinct feeling of being torn apart, much like the fruit shared between his brothers so long ago.

when he awakes, he finds his home utterly destroyed, and the item split in half with the other half missing. despite this, he was alive but... off.

in the ruins of his home, he looks at his reflection in a scrap of polished steel, but he finds nothing wrong. and yet, in his periphery, he saw more than broken machines and furniture, more than the mess he was standing in. but every time he turned to look, all he could see was the aftermath of the explosion.

his sharp hearing, slightly damaged from the blast, picked up on soft sounds that did not belong to his area. rain, perhaps, or the sound of waves where there shouldn't be any. but he could never pinpoint the sound, nor see whatever it was that eluded his line of vision.

the days pass, and he cleans up his mess and rebuilds his home, yet the odd sensations persist. while he brushes it off as a side effect of a magical explosion, he can't deny the dreams that plague him at night. he sees himself running through unknown terrains, almost aimlessly. he could hardly ever remember them when he wakes up, however.

he does his best to regain some sort of normalcy, but it proves a challenge when he feels himself losing his mind. he'd find himself looking over his shoulder on a peaceful day, hearing a loud crash from nowhere. he'd feel unbearably cold on a summer afternoon, his limbs shaking despite the warmth of his flesh. and sometimes, in the dead of night, he can feel himself bleed out on his bed, though the blankets come clean each and every time.

then, whatever comes after can be yours to figure out. he can either obsess over finding a permanent way to stop the sensations, or look for the places he goes to in his dreams, whichever provides him motivation to head out into the world.

in a way, i think he'd be a blend of frankenstein and dr. jekyll and mr. hyde, but dr. jekyll is the mad scientist who inadvertently creates his mr. hyde.

i agree with daisy, that last one was pretty tough. but thank you for the games and prizes, i had a lot of fun wracking my brain over them

nope, all you can bring abroad are your fists. everything else is unequipped until you head back to torn. you can purchase weapons abroad and use them there, though

one of my favorite supervillains. i'd love to see more of him on the screen someday, he's got a lot of potential for some badass scenes if you think about it. best they hire a voice actor should he ever be included in a live action adaptation, maybe matthew mercer or liam o'brien

the fact i've never heard of this guy until now is pretty funny, since that seems to be his whole thing. i like the idea of him being part of a mundane crowd, sort of like a "where's waldo?" situation
