Hey everyone, both new and veteran Torn players!
International Beer Day is just around the corner, so I thought I'd put together a quick guide on what the event is all about and how you can make the most of it.
I'm also writing this partly as a reference for myself. As a newer player, every event is a first for me, so I've had to dig around and figure out what each one has to offer. Hopefully this guide saves other new players some time as well.
Firstly, this is not post about "How do I drink beer?" or "How to celebrate International Beer Day?" or even "Health benefits of beer". Instead, I'm trying to break down how the event affects the game mechanics. If you like numbers, feel free to read through this. But if you just like drinking beer, here it is in a kegshell: buy a Keg of Beer or two, and pour 97 glasses from it, sell the keg and wait for the event.
What is International Beer Day in Torn?
In short, International Beer Day takes place on August 7th, 2026. During the event, all beer items provide 5x their normal nerve gain. You can check your in-game event calendar to see the exact start and end times.
Which items are affected?
The event does not apply to every alcohol item in Torn.
Only the following items receive the 5x nerve gain bonus:
Bottle of Beer (normally 1 nerve)
Glass of Beer (normally 2 nerve)
You can obtain Glasses of Beer by pouring them from a Keg of Beer, making kegs a great option for the event.
How does the 5x bonus work?
You have 48 hours to take advantage of the event.
In practice, you'll start the event with 0 hours of booster cooldown, then fill up 24 hours of booster cooldown on each of the two event days. Finally, just before the event ends, you can use another full 24 hours of accumulated booster cooldown.
Without any perks or books that modify booster cooldown, that gives you a total of 72 hours of usable booster cooldown over the course of the event—enough to drink 72 beers.
That translates to:
Bottle of Beer: 72 × 1 Nerve × 5 = 360 Nerve
Glass of Beer: 72 × 2 Nerve × 5 = 720 Nerve
But that's not all...
If you're part of a faction with Voracity perks, the benefits become even better. There are two perks that make a huge difference during International Beer Day:
Nerve from Alcohol – Increases the nerve gained from drinking alcohol by up to 50% (5% per upgrade).
Booster Cooldown – Increases your maximum booster cooldown by up to 24 hours (1 hour per upgrade).
With both perks fully upgraded, your maximum booster cooldown increases from 24 hours to 48 hours. Over the course of the event, that means you can drink 96 beers instead of 72, and each one gives 50% more nerve.
Here's what that looks like:
Bottle of Beer: 96 × 1 Nerve × 5 × 1.5 = 720 Nerve
Glass of Beer: 96 × 2 Nerve × 5 × 1.5 = 1,440 Nerve
That's a massive amount of extra nerve to use in two days. And if you ever needed another reason to join a good faction, this is one of them!
And nerve points can stack over nerve cap, so you can take first 48 glasses ver first minute of event. Also using your booster CD effeciently, you are able to get one extra glass overcapping booster CD. So, actually maximum amount of beer during event is 97.
You can squeeze out even more value from the event through company job perks (such as Grocery Store, Mining corp or Pub) and certain books that provide additional bonuses.
If you have the following books, you might want to consider using them during the event:

| Book : Get Drunk And Lose Dignity | Doubles alcohol effects for 31 days. |
Those are definitely worth looking into if you want to optimize your gains. When combined with the bonuses above, they can make International Beer Day even more rewarding.
What is theoretically the maximum amount of nerve you can get from beer items during the event?
Working in >= 7* Pub and reading Get Drunk and Lose Dignity + faction perks max you will get from
Glass of beer (2 nerve) * 1,5 (pub) * 1,5 (faction) * 2 (book) = 9 Nerve which means 45 Nerve during event
with full booster CD used it makes your nerve gains to 97*45N = 4365 Nerve
Where to use all this nerve?
Well, Torn wiki is good source of all information of the game: https://wiki.torn.com/wiki/Nerve. You can do Crimes or Bust people, but basically go for Crimes!
Shoplifting merit award is one to check out *Notorious: Achieve 100% notoriety at all stores at the same time in Shoplifting*.
What does all of this cost?
Generally speaking, no alcohol item normally provides 10 nerve, so it isn't a completely fair comparison. However, even with a quick look at the numbers, it's easy to see that opening your Kegs of Beer is definitely worth it.
A Glass of Beer can't be bought directly, but you can purchase a Keg of Beer for around $8.5 million (at the moment!).
On average, a single keg yields 80 glasses, which puts the cost of one Glass of Beer at approximately $106,000.
During International Beer Day, each glass provides 10 Nerve, bringing the cost down to roughly $10,600 per Nerve—an incredible value compared to every other alcohol item in the game.

Even if the price of a Keg of Beer were to increase to $10 million (~$12,500 per Nerve) or even $20 million (~$25,000 per Nerve), it would still remain reasonably priced when compared to the cost per nerve of the standard 3–5 Nerve alcohol items that many players regularly use.
In many cases it's even cheaper than your daily nerve refill, which usually is totally worth it too!
The downside
Of course, there is a catch. Your Keg of Beer isn't guaranteed to last for 80 glasses. It could break on the very first pour. On the other hand, some players have managed to get hundreds of glasses from a single keg.
Technically speaking, a Keg of Beer doesn't contain a fixed amount of beer. Instead, every time you pour a glass, the keg simply has a 1/80 chance of breaking. This also means you can sell the keg at any time, and it will always appear to be "full" to the next owner.
On the bright side, you might get lucky and make it through the entire event with a single Keg of Beer, allowing you to sell it afterwards.
The price of kegs will almost certainly drop during the event, but there's a good chance you'll still recover at least 50% of your investment.
Tip
You can pour your beer glasses before event when Keg price is down. Selling keg foward near event, you probably make some profit and turn your cost/nerve positive!
Start using your booster CD very first minute of event and keep it up until end of event. You can take one extra glass over CD to maximaze nerve gains.
Event time is easy to forget. Set notifications before event start to zero your booster cooldown and before end of event not to fly out and lose nerve gains.
Trading possibilities
The event should not really impact the price of a bottle of beer, since you can easily grab one at Bits and Bobs for $10. And Keg of Beer is item you want for this event to maximize nerve gain.
I'm not a expert trader so I won't speculate on how prices will behave this year. However, last year (event was celebrated 1st of August 2025) the price of Kegs of Beer peaked on the day before the event started, then dropped by roughly 40–50% during the event.
You should get rid of your kegs before event starts.
