Hey everyone,
I’d like to bring up a topic that’s been on my mind for a while: mugging new or low‑stat players while they travel.
Before anything else — this isn’t a complaint, and it’s not an attempt to tell anyone how to play. Torn is Torn: crime, PvP, mugging, strategy… it’s all part of the game. But there is a difference between playing competitively and picking on players who have no real chance to defend themselves.
Lately, I’ve seen more and more high‑stat players (often 51%+ stronger) attacking and mugging brand‑new travelers who barely know how the travel system works. And honestly, it doesn’t help the game grow. It discourages new players, kills motivation, and reduces the long‑term health of the community.
A different approach
Instead of targeting lowbies who can’t fight back, what if we — as a community — shifted our focus?
Why not go after the people who attack lowbies first? If someone with huge stats decides to farm new travelers, they become the real target.
Not out of revenge. Not out of toxicity. But as a way to keep the ecosystem healthier and more fun for everyone.
What this achieves
-
New players feel safer and more welcome
-
The game stays competitive without becoming predatory
-
High‑stat players still get PvP action — just against opponents who actually matter
-
We create a culture where strength is used with purpose, not just convenience
Not a rule — just a community choice
Nobody is forced to follow this idea. But if enough of us agree, we can shift the meta in a way that benefits Torn long‑term.
If you enjoy mugging strong players who prey on weak ones, join in. If not, no problem — everyone plays their own way.
Just wanted to open the conversation and see what the community thinks.
Stay safe out there, and happy hunting.

+ dropped. I came to see fish… ended up with sharks. Welcome to Torn
I have to admit, you have a point there. I can’t help but agree with you about how it might affect the game. Thanks for your input—my post wasn’t meant to be a guide, but rather food for thought. I don’t intend to ban anything or impose rules; it was simply an analysis, a hypothesis, about how different behavior might affect the game.
