UPDATE: THIS PROJECT IS CURRENTLY UNDER FURTHER DEVELOPMENT AND A LOT OF FEATURES BELOW ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE
I've had someone look over my project and since I didn't do my due diligence of making sure everything was inline with torns limitations, there must be a revamp.
I'm leaving the old post how it was for now until i've updated it but expect changes like manual refreshes, no automatic polling, no background notifications, etc.
I'm working on a project right now that's not fully ready for public use yet, so I'm mainly just checking if anyone would actually be interested before I spend time cleaning it up for release.
It's basically a market watcher where you can track up to 6 items and get alerted (in-app or through notifications) when listings hit a price you set.
It does need both your phone and your computer to work.
Basically you run a small backend on your PC, and then use TornPDA on your phone to control everything.
On the TornPDA side, it just adds a menu where you can set up what you want to watch. You can pick up to 6 items, set a price you want to be alerted at, mess with the near-miss gap if you care about that, and quickly jump to market or bazaar listings for whatever you're tracking. Nothing too crazy, just makes it easier to keep an eye on things.
The desktop side is where it’s a bit nicer though. It gives you a live view of everything you’re watching, shows listings in a cleaner way, and you can set it up so it only shows what you actually care about. It also does browser notifications, which is nice if you’re on your PC.
Just to be clear:
this does NOT automate anything in Torn. It doesn't buy items or interact with the game for you. It only monitors listings and alerts you — you still have to act manually.
Also worth noting: this is more useful for general monitoring than instant sniping, since delays mean some listings might already be gone by the time you see them.
If there's interest, I'll clean it up and post the GitHub repo so people can try it out or modify it themselves.
Fair warning: the codebase was mostly put together using AI and I'm not a professional developer, so expect some rough edges. Use at your own discretion.
p.s. I’ve also been messing around with the idea of adding some kind of market trend / prediction system later on. Nothing crazy yet, but more like tracking price patterns over time and seeing if it can pick up on when things tend to dip or spike.
If enough people are actually interested in this, I might take it a bit further and start building something like that using collected data.
Some pics from both in-app and web (Might have a few tweaks later)
