Actually, I'm lucky. I work as a photographer, and it's my passion, my hobby. Try playing with cyanotype. You don't need a camera for it. Scale modeling also helps me relax. And to stay fit and not get too bloated, I combine cycling with camping.

Hi Unknown. Depression is a difficult and insidious illness. I understand your concerns. Asking for help from family and friends is in no way demeaning. It's worse when loved ones don't know what's going on. I'm writing from experience; my wife suffers from depression. Until I knew about this illness, communication was very difficult. As @glitch__ wrote, seek help from a specialist therapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist. There's no shame in it, and you can spare yourself a lot of suffering. I wish you serenity and courage.
Verna's The Mysterious Island is also wonderful. I read it as a child. It's actually the third installment in a trilogy consisting of Captain Grant's Children and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.
May I suggest "The Doll" by Bolesław Prus, one of the most important Polish realistic novels, depicting the panorama of Warsaw at the end of the 19th century. It has been translated into English by David Welsh.
I'm watching The Expanse. I really like the series. Once I finish watching it, I'
ll get around to reading the books.
It's hard to choose which anime I like best. The first one I started watching in this genre was Ghost in the Shell. Then came Akira and Appleseed. However, Death Note captivated me the most.
Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment gave me a lot to think about. It's brilliant. The book that moved me most was On the Beach by Nevil Shute.
I recently watched Vabank. A Polish film from 1981. Machulski's directorial debut.
