I've only been playing Torn for a short time, but I've already become very active in wars, faction activities, training, and learning the game. While playing, I started thinking about an idea that could make Torn feel even more immersive and realistic.
What if Torn introduced a regional or country-based system while still keeping the game global?
For example, players could choose or be associated with a region such as Malta, Italy, England, Germany, the USA, and many others. The game would remain one shared world, but players could represent their regions through special events, competitions, and alliances.
Some ideas could include:
• Regional leaderboards • Country-based rankings • Regional factions or alliances • Diplomatic agreements between regions • Regional wars and competitions • Trade routes between different regions • Smuggling operations between countries • Regional black markets with different prices • Special events where countries compete for rewards • Regional achievements and titles • Territory control and influence systems • Seasonal tournaments between regions • Unique missions based on different locations • International crime syndicates • Regional economic bonuses and penalties
Imagine a situation where Malta forms an alliance with Italy, while England and Germany compete for influence. Factions could still exist, but there could be another layer of strategy involving regions, diplomacy, trade, and politics.
I understand there could be challenges, especially with balancing smaller countries against larger ones, but perhaps smaller countries could be grouped into regions or given balancing mechanisms.
One of the things I enjoy most about Torn is the strategy behind factions, wars, and long-term planning. I think adding a regional layer could make the game feel more like a living world where players are not only building their own character but also helping their region grow and compete.
What do you think?
Would something like this make Torn more interesting, or would it make the game too complicated?
Instead of discussing what went wrong after every major faction robbery, why not add a dual-approval system for faction bank transfers?
One banker could initiate and review the transfer as part of their normal duties. However, transfers above a certain amount would remain pending until a second, higher-ranked banker (or a leader/co-leader) approves them.
This wouldn't stop every scam or mistake, but it would add a second layer of protection. One person can make a mistake. Two people independently making the same mistake is much less likely.
Most real-world businesses and banks already use this kind of approval process for large transactions. It seems like a simple change that could prevent factions from losing billions because of a single click or one compromised account.

I'm just trying to think of a solution. Losing 83 billion can bring a faction to its knees. That's the part I'm looking at.
My idea is simple. Big transfers shouldn't be approved by just one banker. They should need two approvals before the money leaves the faction. One banker checks it, then a higher-ranked banker confirms it.
I'm not saying this will stop every scam, but it would make it much harder for one mistake to destroy a faction.
The worst part is that everyone in the faction pays the price. They all lose out because of one person who either made a huge mistake or pretended it was a mistake. That doesn't seem right.
Today it happened to them. Next time it could happen to your faction or anyone else's. That's why I think it's worth discussing.

I haven’t insulted you or judged you. I explained why I use AI and that’s it. There’s no need to turn this into personal attacks or talk about intelligence. If we can’t keep it respectful, there’s no point continuing this conversation.
“I’m not comparing free time or anything like that. I’m just busy with work and responsibilities, so I try to stay efficient. Even simple things like typing on my phone while I’m gaming takes time, so using AI just helps me communicate faster. That’s all it is.”
Listen, I’m not from Kazakhstan. I’m from Malta — a small island in the Mediterranean with a long and deep history. Before making comments, at least get the basics right. Where are you from, anyway?”
Yes, I use ChatGPT to help write my ideas. Why? Because it’s 2026. We use the tools available to us. Just like people moved from handwritten letters to emails, and from typewriters to keyboards, we’ve now moved into AI-assisted writing.
Using AI doesn’t remove the idea — it helps structure and express it more clearly. The thinking is still mine. The intention is still mine. The tool just helps me communicate faster and better.
So no, there’s nothing disgraceful about it. It’s no different from using spellcheck, Google, or a word processor. It’s just the next step in how people express themselves.”
“Yeah, I get what you’re saying. I wasn’t trying to push anything as a demand, it was just an idea I had while thinking about the game. I understand this is just how Torn works. I just wanted to share a thought in the forum as part of the discussion. No hard feelings either way.”
Hey guys, sorry if my comment came across the wrong way. I was just sharing a suggestion and an idea about the game—I don’t fully know all the mechanics or how everything works yet. It wasn’t meant to be serious or to offend anyone, just something I was thinking about and wanted to mention in the forum. I understand everyone has different perspectives, and ideas are part of how games improve and develop. If what I said was inappropriate or annoying, then I apologise. That wasn’t my intention.”
Just to put all my ideas together more clearly, because I think I explained them in different parts: I’m not only talking about combat or factions. I’m talking about the whole Torn world working more like a living global system. One part of the idea is time zones and factions working together more naturally. For example, factions could be more aligned with player activity based on region/time zone, so wars and events are not always happening when most of one side is asleep. It wouldn’t be about forcing anyone to play at certain times, but more about structuring large-scale conflicts so both sides actually have active participation instead of half the faction being offline. Another part is identity. For example, if your account is created in a certain country or region (like Malta, England, Italy, etc.), you would have that identity as part of your profile world. Not replacing factions, but adding a wider layer of belonging above factions. Then you also have companies and the economy. With stronger regional/time-zone structure, companies could become more active globally across different hours instead of everything peaking at one time zone. That could help make trading, working, and economic activity feel more continuous and alive, instead of being concentrated in one activity window. On top of that, it could also open up alliances and cooperation between regions, where trade, diplomacy, and faction relationships feel more like part of a bigger world system rather than just isolated groups. Overall, my idea is not to change Torn into something else or focus only on combat. It’s about adding extra layers of identity, strategy, and global structure on top of what already exists — factions, crimes, trading, companies, everything would still be there. The goal is just to make the world feel more connected, more active, and more alive across time zones and regions.
Just to clarify what I’m trying to say — it’s not about turning Torn into a pure combat or battle-style game.
My idea is about the whole world system, not just fighting.
It would include things like alliances, trade, diplomacy, economy, and cooperation as well. Combat is only one part of it, not the focus.
The main concept I was thinking about is identity based on where your account starts (for example Malta, England, Italy, etc.), so players feel connected to a wider world structure while still keeping factions, crimes, trading, and everything else exactly as they are now.
So it’s not about removing anything or changing Torn into something different — it’s more about adding an extra layer on top of what already exists, giving more meaning to global interaction, not just combat.
Just to clarify — I already posted this idea in the Suggestions section for the developers to see. Thanks for the encouragement though, I appreciate it. I’ll see how it develops from there and what feedback comes back. It’s just an idea I woke up with and thought could add more identity and depth to the game world.
As a newer player, I've been thinking a lot about the combat system and how battles work in Torn.
I completely understand that players who have spent years building their stats should have an advantage. They have invested time, effort, and resources into their characters, and that should be respected.
However, I sometimes wonder if combat relies too heavily on raw stats and not enough on intelligence, planning, and tactical decision-making.
Right now, when a very high-level player attacks a much lower-level player, the outcome is often decided before the fight even starts. The stronger player wins because of superior stats, and there is very little the weaker player can do about it.
What if combat included more opportunities for strategy?
For example:
• Tactical items that temporarily affect accuracy, vision, or movement. • Ambushes that reward planning and preparation. • Different fighting styles with strengths and weaknesses. • Environmental advantages or disadvantages. • Equipment combinations that create unique effects. • Defensive tactics that help weaker players survive longer. • Risk-versus-reward decisions during combat.
I'm not saying a Level 9 should regularly defeat a Level 25.
What I am saying is that there should sometimes be a possibility for an intelligent player to overcome a stronger opponent through clever tactics and preparation.
One of the oldest stories in history is David and Goliath. David wasn't stronger. He wasn't bigger. He won because he used intelligence, positioning, and the right tool at the right moment.
To me, that kind of possibility makes games exciting.
The strongest player should still win most of the time, but the weaker player should always feel that they have a chance if they are smart enough and prepared enough.
I believe that would make combat more dynamic, more strategic, and more enjoyable for both new and experienced players.
What do you think?
Should Torn continue to focus mainly on stats, or would you like to see more tactical and strategic elements added to combat?
