TIGER DAY HUNTING GUIDE BY... SS · · 3 likes

WHEN, WHAT WHY

Tiger Day runs from 12:00 TCT on 28 July until 12:00 TCT on 30 July (subject to personal event start times). Hunting experience is multiplied by five for the full 48 hours, and several high-value animals become available. The main prize is hunting skill; income is just a bonus.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

  1. Be in South Africa before 12:00 TCT on 28 July (or event start time in your calendar).
  2. Arrive with as much energy as your budget and preparation allow - ideally 1k e with no drug cooldown. Also arrive with some funds to hunt with, and to buy xanax (amount subject to how much risk / money you want to take). NB! do not go empty handed.
  3. When you arrive, buy xanax if in stock.
  4. Spend all available energy on hunting once the multiplier is active.
  5. If xanax in stock, pop xanax, spend e, and fly back.If it is not in stock, pray that it restocks before you get mugged, or fly back.
  6. Alternative step, if you're able to buy xanax and comfortable staying in South Africa, then buy 8 xanax and stay in South Africa for the duration of the event to maximise energy spent. Note: this sacrifices all nerve and refills.
  7. Billionare step, use BCT to get back and forth asap to minimise losses and maximise e spent through refills and ecans. Ensure your booster cooldown is at 0 before the event start.

Note: xanax stock on Torn PDA is not reliable due to high demand disrupting historical restocking patterns. You need to be vigilant with buying xans and may only be able to buy 1 if any. An alternative is to buy LSD to gain 50 e and 5 nerve - be wary of OD rate. Further note that there are players in SA who are selling xanax for a premium price of 1.5mil to 3mil - this is enabled by Travel 2.0 where you can send bought items to others in the same city. Thank you @KeXyftw for the tip, and @Mikasakrman for the xan :)

WHAT TO HUNT

  1. Use Beginner below roughly 25 hunting skill,
  2. Standard from roughly 25, and
  3. Advanced from roughly 75

HOW HUNTING WORKS

Hunting is available from level 15 and can only be done in South Africa.

Each hunt:

  • Costs 10 energy.
  • Costs $500.
  • Produces an immediate result.
  • NB: Gives the same hunting-skill gain whether you select Beginner, Standard or Advanced.

The session selected affects animals and income, rather than skill gain. There is no reason to select Advanced early if your skill is too low to catch its better animals.

PREPARATION BEFORE THE EVENT

Travel

Plan your flight so that you are already in South Africa when the event begins. With an airstrip, the flight takes approximately 3 hours and 37 minutes. Check your own travel time and leave with a margin.

Save the following until after 12:00 TCT:

  • Your point refill
  • Xanax intended for hunting
  • Energy cans or FHCs
  • Job-point energy, where available
  • Any other stored energy source

The event covers parts of three Torn days. Subject to your existing refill use, you may be able to use a point refill:

  • After 12:00 TCT on 28 July
  • During 29 July
  • Before 12:00 TCT on 30 July

Note: the 5x xp gained will appear on the hunting page, but will NOT appear in the logs.

Money

Bring enough cash to pay the $500 hunting fee: (You should be profitable so no need to bring more than a few k)

  • 150 energy = 15 hunts = $7,500
  • 250 energy = 25 hunts = $12,500
  • 1,000 energy = 100 hunts = $50,000

Keep additional cash carried abroad to a minimum because of mugging risk.

TIGER DAY ANIMALS

Tiger Day adds several valuable animals to the normal hunting pools.

Beginner pool:

  • Addax – $850,000 each; requires approximately 13 hunting skill
  • White Tiger – $5,000,000 each; requires approximately 22 hunting skill

Standard pool:

  • Pangolin – $1,400,000 each; minimum skill unclear
  • Cape Vulture – $2,800,000 each; minimum skill unclear

Standard sessions include Beginner animals, while Advanced sessions include the lower-session pools. Members with higher skill therefore retain access to the Tiger Day animals while using the appropriate higher session.

BONUSES

The most useful bonuses are:

  • 7-star Meat Warehouse: 25% additional hunting-skill gain
  • Survival Skills education course: 15% hunting bonus
  • Faction Excursion perks: up to 30% additional hunting income
  • 3-star Zoo or Farm: 25% additional hunting rewards
  • Donator status: larger maximum energy and faster regeneration

For Tiger Day, the Meat Warehouse bonus is especially valuable because it directly increases skill gain. Faction, Zoo and Farm bonuses mainly improve the financial return.

EXPECTATIONS

Hunting skill becomes progressively slower to increase. Early levels move quickly, while the final levels require far more energy. One stacked event will produce good progress, particularly for newer hunters who could go from level 1-22 over UPDATED: Seen level increases from 1-38 , thus far, over the course of Tiger Day.

The hunting honours are awarded at:

  • 50 hunting skill
  • 75 hunting skill
  • 100 hunting skill

Tiger Day is the best time to pursue the merits because of the five-times multiplier. Treat the rare-animal income as luck rather than the main reason for participating.

10 Beginner Mistakes That Slow Your Progress... by SS · · 2 likes

If you're new to Torn, avoiding these mistakes will save you a lot of time and money.

---

1. Letting Energy Sit at 150

Energy is your most valuable resource.

Use it on gym training or other useful activities instead of letting it stay full.

---

2. Carrying Too Much Cash

If you're carrying a lot of money, you can get mugged.

Store your money somewhere safe whenever possible.

---

3. Staying Without a Faction

A good faction provides perks, guidance, and faster progression.

Join one as early as you can.

---

4. Buying Expensive Weapons Too Early

A powerful weapon won't make up for weak battle stats.

Focus on training first.

---

5. Ignoring Education

Education provides permanent benefits.

Start a course early and keep one running.

6. Spending Merits Without Research

Merits are limited.

Read guides before investing them.

Logging in for a few minutes each day is better than missing several days.

Small daily progress adds up.

common answers for newbies questions... by SS · · 1 like

Hey! I just wanted to share a few tips that really helped me when I was starting out in Torn. This message is a bit long, but I hope you'll take a few minutes to read it. It should save you a lot of time and help you make money early on.

A few tips:

• Try not to use your faction's medkits while doing loss selling. Those are usually meant for wars and faction activities, so many factions don't like members using them just for contracts.

• Once you've earned a bit (around 4 losses = roughly $1.2m), buy your own Xanax(gives you 250 energy) and First Aid Kits. Using your own supplies lets you keep earning without relying on faction resources.

• Don't overdo loss selling unless you're intentionally going for the "Loser" title. I did that myself because it fits the weak-looking persona I play in Torn, but for most players it's better to keep a balanced win/loss record.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does loss selling reduce my faction's respect?

A: Absolutely not. A loss-selling contract doesn't reduce faction respect. The main reason some factions discourage it is because they would rather members spend their energy on faction objectives or battle stat growth. However, if you're a newer player, the cash from loss selling can help you progress much faster.

Q: Why is loss selling good for new players?

A: The money you earn can be invested into Xanax, First Aid Kits, and other essentials. Better resources mean more energy, more activity, and faster overall progression than staying broke.

Q: Is it better than training?

A: They're different. Training increases your stats, while loss selling gives you the money to afford items that support your growth. Many players do a mix of both depending on their goals.

Q: Can I do it forever?

A: You can, but it's usually better to treat it as a way to build up your finances early on. Once you have a stable income, you'll probably want to spend more of your energy on training, attacking, or your faction's activities.

Don't forget to add me to your friend list if you find this helpful. ❤️Much love and welcome to Torn!

P.S. Try to avoid gambling. It can be very tempting, but many players have lost years of hard-earned money in just a few minutes. Use your cash to grow your character instead

Beginner's Survival Guide to 1level to 15level... BY SS ·

Hello everyone!

I'm a newer player who spent time reading guides, asking experienced players, and learning from my own mistakes. This guide is for brand-new players who want a smooth start.

---

1. Don't Waste Energy (E)

Your Energy is your most valuable resource.

- Train in the gym whenever possible.

- Avoid wasting Energy on random attacks.

- Don't let your Energy sit at max for long.

---

2. Join an Active Faction

A good faction gives you:

- Training perks

- Helpful advice

- Better progression

- Protection

- More opportunities later

Don't stay factionless for too long.

---

3. Keep Your Cash Low

Many players get mugged.

Try to carry only a small amount of cash and store the rest safely whenever possible.

---

4. Don't Buy Expensive Weapons Early

At low levels, your stats matter more than expensive gear.

Save your money until you understand combat better.

---

5. Start Education Immediately

Education takes time.

The earlier you start, the sooner you'll unlock permanent bonuses.

---

6. Do Crimes Consistently

Crimes help improve your criminal progression and earn money over time.

Don't ignore your Nerve bar.

---

7. Don't Attack Everyone

Only attack when you have a reason:

- Missions

- Experience

- Events

- Faction objectives

Random attacks often waste Energy.

---

8. Learn Before Spending Merits

Merits are valuable.

Research where to spend them before using them.

---

9. Ask Questions

Most veteran players are willing to help if you ask politely.

The forums and your faction can teach you a lot.

---

10. Be Patient

Torn is a marathon, not a sprint.

Consistent daily progress beats rushing.

---

Final Advice

✔ Train every day.

✔ Do your crimes.

✔ Keep learning.

✔ Save your money.

✔ Join a good faction.

Small improvements every day become huge progress over time.

Good luck and see you in Torn City!

understands the 4 main bars... by SS ·

First of all, this thread is not meant for experienced players, it's just for newbie players who are just experiencing their first few weeks in Torn.

Some things that everyone needs to know is about the following. Hopefully this is helpful to some of you.

-Energy

-Nerve

-Happy

-Life Bar

All of these are essential parts of Torn City

-Energy

Energy is a key point of your progress in Torn. It's what helps you attack, increase your battle stats, and much more. Players without the donator status have a max energy bar of 100, and you get 5 back every 15 min. If you have the donator status, then you have max energy of 150, and you get 5 back every 10 min. However, you can go over the 100 or 150 limit by taking a Xanax. Once you go over the max energy limit, the excess energy does not expire until you use it, but if you OD (It is a random chance that you will OD), then you lose all of that energy and you are in the hospital for up to 3-4 days. LSD also happens to increase your energy by 50

-Nerve

Nerve much like energy is another key point in Torn. If you progress it enough, you can get boatloads of cash.

For more info on nerve, look at Nash's Guide to Nerve Bar. You get 1 nerve back every 5 min after you have used it. Like energy, when you go over your max nerve, it doesn't expire, it stays over until you used it.

-Happy

While energy get your battle stats higher, happy gets them higher more effectively. The higher that your happy is, the more gains you get. For example, if you own a shack and you train a stat, your stat may increase by 5 or 10 points. But if you own a Private Island or PI, then that stat may go up 150-200 points in that stat. Your happy regenerates by 5 every 15 min, so if you have 500 happy, and your max is 1500, it may take a while for it to regenerate. To decrease the time, it takes for your happy to regenerate, you can do many things, the cheap way to go is to eat a bunch of boxes of chocolate bars. Ecstasy doubles your happy, and Erotic DVDs are much more expensive and increase your happy by a much higher amount.

-Life Bar

Obviously, your life bar shows how much life you have until you have to go to the hospital. When you attack and beat someone, the damage that they dealt to you DOES NOT immediately regenerate after the battle, you have to wait for it to regenerate meaning that you are more susceptible to being attacked and losing until it is full again.

This is guide for beginners who still need some help in the game and is not for players who have been playing for a long time as I'm guessing that they already know this. If you have any suggestions, comments or constructive criticism, please post below.
