So after doing the math on this, I think it depends on your situation.
Assuming interest rates did not change, if you are able to max out the bank account, then yes, picking the highest APR will yield the most profit over a period of time. This is because no matter how much you make on each cycle, you can't reinvest the profits to have it compound.
But looking at it from a standpoint of someone who cannot yet max out the account, it can be better to go with a short cycle and reinvest the profit sooner. If my math is correct, 2 months would be best in both these scenarios, but for someone unable to max out the bank, twelve 1 month cycles would net a higher total profit than four 3 month investments, as the second best option, due to getting the profits reinvested sooner.
