I just finished "The Long Shoe" by Bob Mortimor. While I read it mostly in one sitting and enjoyed the characters, it felt very much like his other two books, just watered down and not as impactful. Little disappointed. Would recommend his first "The Satsuma Complex" and while still enjoyable the sequel "Hotel Avocado" was pleasant, the literary homeopathy can already be felt there too. My pile of shame hasn't screamed out at me what to pick up next.
