I’m not really sure where to start with this.
I’m barely 30 days into Torn, sitting at around 68K stats, and somehow I decided that participating in Elimination was going to be my way to glory. I ended up with 291 attacks, barely missing the 5% club by a couple more hits
Here is my story for whoever is interested
Almost everyone I spoke to beforehand told me that as a new player, Elimination would be a waste of time and that I’d be better off spending my energy and time training. But that didn't feel right to me. I joined Torn to have fun and enjoy the game, and what could be more fun than fighting alongside 2,000 random people in a vicious war? I figured this was my chance to start making a name for myself, meet some people, and actually experience one of the biggest events in the game.
So I decided to ride it out. I'd rather regret joining than regret not joining.
And holy shit, what a decision that turned out to be.
Getting Started
From the moment I joined we had some great leaders. They immediately started putting everything together, a Discord server, forum guides, explanations of pushes, how they worked, what Elimination was actually about, and how we were supposed to coordinate. As a completely new player, I learned a ton.
We also had to choose our captain. After some consideration, I voted for Nightwing because he seemed to have the most experience. The other candidates were experienced too, but they were also part of Nightwing's council, so to me a Nightwing win was effectively a win for the whole leadership group.
Then the attacking period started, and things went to shit pretty quickly.
For some reason, we started at the bottom and got zeroed. We reached zero tickets on the first day and stayed there for something like 17 hours.
Being a low level player in Elimination is brutal. I had my medical cooldown maxed from the start, and the moment I would med out, I'd get sniped almost immediately. You're basically free food for everyone. Even people with one or two billion stats would look for the weakest target so they could rack up easy hits.
I saw people with three million stats complaining about being low stat for this event. I'm sitting there with barely 70K thinking, If one million is low, then what the fuck am I? Will I actually be able to achieve anything?
I knew being new would make things difficult. I could barely find targets to hit, while almost everyone could find me. But I learned quickly. I could ask questions in chat and experienced players would help immediately, telling me which scripts they used and how to line everything up so I could get attacks in the moment I left the hospital. It made a huge difference.
The Comebacks
We got our tickets up before the elimination period started, and honestly, seeing that was fucking impressive. Everyone came together before the real fighting had even begun and managed to get our tickets up, showing just how much effort people were already putting into the team.
Then we got the order to hit Nine Lives. Watching us go from zero tickets to around 1,400 was incredible. We got zeroed again, climbed back up, and kept fighting. In total, we got zeroed four times during the game, and somehow we kept coming back.
Our pushes were insane. Whenever we were in a tie situation, we seemed to win the push, and we only lost a couple of lives during the particularly vicious attacks from Nine Lives. I think Nine Lives were trying to make us the next target after they lose, and to be fair, they made things very difficult for us. They zeroed us next to them and we lost two lives, so kudos to them. They played it well.
But they couldn't finish us.
Inanimate Objects followed after their friends, Brain Surgeons and Conspiracy Theorists followed swiftly.
Finally, it was time for Touching Grass. Our leader gave us the order:
"We are not gonna touch the grass. We're gonna cut it."
And we did. Beautifully.
I have no idea what was happening behind the scenes or what deals Nightwing may have made, but I'm pretty sure there was a lot going on that we weren't being told about. Some members started doubting him because he kept his plans private, but honestly, I understood it. If you announce your entire strategy on Discord, there's a good chance it gets leaked. A leaked plan isn't much of a plan anymore.
We didn't even know who our allies were. The only thing I knew was that when certain teams got low on tickets, we were ordered not to hit them. Reptiles and Stick and Stone were two examples. Even though hitting them could potentially have made them the next target instead of it potentially being us, we were told to leave them alone. I'm sure Nightwing had his reasons, although I have to admit I was pretty pissed seeing them attack us when we were in a bad position.
Still, we eventually beat Touching Grass.
When Everything Went Wrong
After that, we came under heavy fire. Unfortunately, I'd already finished my hits and went to sleep after staying up until around 8 or 9 AM, despite knowing I should have been asleep much earlier.
When I woke up, we were at the bottom and everyone was attacking us. We were at zero tickets while the next team had something like 1,700. We were absolutely cooked.
I kept reading that our leaders and co leaders were trying to find last minute solutions, any kind of alliance that might help. But we waited, and waited, and nothing seemed to happen. My medical cooldown was maxed or close to it, but being low level and also the main target meant that even if I left the hospital, I'd probably get sniped within three or four seconds.
It was hell, but we still fought.
Eventually, we got the message that nothing had worked. We started saying our goodbyes and congratulating each other on what we'd achieved. I told everyone how proud I was of them and that if I could choose a team all over again, I'd still choose to be a Loose Cannon.
We were down to two lives.
Then, about two minutes later, we got an order that completely changed everything:
"We have some alliances. Let's hit Rocket Scientist."
The 29 Minute Miracle
And this is where things got fucking insane.
We started that push with zero tickets, while Rocket Scientist had around 1,700. For the next 29 minutes, everyone went absolutely fucking wild. Constant farming, constant pushing, everyone throwing everything they had into it, i even spent an FHC despite my low networth just to continue fighting
And somehow, we closed that enormous gap.
We went from zero tickets to around 900, while Rocket Scientist dropped from around 1,700 to below us.
I still don't know how the fuck we managed it.
The adrenaline was unreal. We had gone from being completely doomed and saying our goodbyes to suddenly having a genuine chance of surviving.
We were down to one life.
If we missed that push by even one ticket, we were gone.
One fucking ticket.
Everyone pushed. Everyone fought. And when the tick came, we held.
We survived.
I don't think I've ever felt that much adrenaline playing any game ever. We were literally one second away from being finished, and somehow we pulled it off.
Maybe we didn't win Elimination, but I genuinely think we made history with that comeback.
The End
Eventually, with the other teams constantly hitting us, we still managed to make two successful pushes, but there was nothing left to give.
We lost.
But at least we lost on our terms.
And the best part?
Guess who's going out after us?
Rocket Scientists.
We did what Nine Lives failed to do. They managed to zero us, but they couldn't make us the next team eliminated.
We did.
So for a barely 30 day old player with 68K stats, who was told that Elimination would be a waste of time, I honestly couldn't have asked for a better first experience.
honestly, the game itself isn't even the part I'll remember most.
The Memories
I can honestly say that in all my years of gaming, I have never felt the kind of fun and intensity that I’ve experienced over these past couple of days. The fact that I got to meet and get to know so many great people on this team would have been enough for me. Fuck the energy and money I spent. I gained something far more valuable: a ton of friends,and an unforgettable experience ,and that's something you can't buy.
And man we made some wild memories.
Getting together with CapMaster and Huzaifah, capping up our names and talking like actual pirates, convincing everyone on the team to do the same. It even got to our leader and co leaders. We raided global multiple times and actually took it over saying "this is now the property of the loose cannons". I got myself hospitalized, bountied, and I even ended up being poisoned by an irradiation weapon.
These are the kind of memories I'm never going to forget.
I am incredibly proud to have been a member of the mighty Loose Cannons with all of you fine people. We grinded, we pushed, we lost some sleep, and we still did fucking great despite how things ended.
We are the only team that hit 0 tickets four times and still bounced back every single time. No matter how hard things got, we kept coming back.
And that's the spirit of a real cannon.

As a new player who initially felt completely lost, you guys immediately stepped up. You taught everyone, wrote guides, built the Discord, organized everything, and made sure even a noobs like me had a place in all of this. I genuinely appreciate it.
I also want to give a special thank you to Nightwing. I talked with him during all of this, and I got to see firsthand just how much he genuinely wanted us to win. And honestly, that's what mattered to me. While some people were worried that their leader might sell them out, I had full trust that Nightwing would do everything he could to get us a win, and I believe he tried his best.
No matter what controversy there may have been surrounding some of his decisions, I genuinely believe our leader had our best interests at heart.
I also can't forget Madgod, bangbewok, and Gardrep for their wizardry and for creating some of the best scripts to help us along the way.
Thank you QueenWoog, fragilesong, and ZeroCool for all the hard work you put into delivering supplies and keeping the team going.
Thank you to our push leaders, Miel, Bjorntobewild, Sweet, Vampytech, WarBabeLegend89, Zoddd, and everyone else who went through absolute hell trying to keep the team coordinated and helping us survive this long.
