Hello there, I was a combat medic in the Army and did in fact carry tampons in my Aidbag.  They are perfect for gun shot wounds  "plug the hole, stop the flow, tampons!"

I thought it might make an amusing while also factual addition to Torn.

It would really just be a novelty.

But tampons are their own item.  They just have no in game function yet.

I think Shadowrunner means that he has them In a First aid kit IRL.   I've looked at the item description for Small first aid kit and it mentions no tampons.  

The point I'm trying to make is that it would be nice as a Greenleaf to be able to use a few tampons found during Search for cash to heal up a small portion of health in-between fights.  The downside is the increased med cooldown really makes it counter productive.  Your unable to heal more than say 40 hp before maxing out your med cooldown.  And provides no reduction to hospital stay.  But again, just an idea and suggestion.  The game would go on without it.

There are new hemostatic devices, but most of those were designed after/during OIF/OEF of the Iraq War.  Based on things medics have been using and doing there.  I'm not trying to add more medical items.  Just add flavor to what is already in the game.

My thoughts on implementation would be low hp gain high med cooldown. This way it wouldn't compete with other first aid items.  And would be most useful to Greenleaf players who don't have access to better med supply's yet.
