Sorry. That’s just part of the internet now. Consider returning your modem to your ISP and cancelling service, yes?

I have a suggestion for how TORN Staff messages could be shown.
It's not about the warning system itself or the rules. The problem is that the way messages are shown now doesn't make it clear what happened to an account.
I recently got a message from staff about a rule violation. It turned out to be of Questionable severity and only resulted in a verbal warning, not a strike.
The message showed up in the same bright red font that staff messages usually use. The sender and subject were both in red, which made me think I'd received a formal punishment or strike before I even opened But that wasn't the case.
Here's my idea:
We could use a simple visual difference based on the type of punishment, not just how serious it is.
🟡 For advisories or verbal warnings, where no strike is added.
🔴 For formal warnings or strikes, where a strike is actually added.
The exact colors aren't the main point. What's important is that the visual style should clearly tell players what happened to their account.
I'm not saying we need more colors for the severity of violations. Severity and punishment are different. A questionable violation might get a verbal warning, while a more serious one could get a formal warning or strike. From a user experience standpoint, what matters is clearly communicating the consequence.
Why I think this is important:
Seeing a red staff message now strongly suggests "I've been formally punished."
If the actual result is just a verbal warning, it causes unnecessary stress and confusion. Players shouldn't have to open the message and read through everything just to find out if their account was actually struck.
In my situation, seeing the red notification made me assume I had a strike right away. I was already preparing for that possibility before opening the message. Only after reading it did I realize the punishment was much less severe.
This is a problem we can avoid with better design.
This isn't about making moderation less strict. Staff can still follow the same rules and make the same decisions. This proposal is just about making the user interface accurately show the punishment that was given.
If it's a verbal warning, it should look like one.
If it's a formal warning that adds a strike to the account, then the strong red message makes sense.
Basically:
If it's not a strike, why should it look like one?
I believe making this distinction would make staff communications much clearer without changing the moderation system at all.

yeah thats what i SHOULD have been doing but alas, thats a easy fix even if late
If theres a spot open ill take a slot, and happy birthday. Hope you make it a good one
that IS fat for a factionless jobless player whos barely been here a month
Skill issue OP.
https://weav3r.dev/travel-stock has existed so long that the fact youre having this problem is hilarious to me, ive made a few mil without even locking into play play all day. My cayman bank is FAT rn
always took issue with the third party casinos since getting to Torn. This is primarily because of the fact that
1. Staff cant control anything really, and scams will cause regulatory attention with it being gambling based
2. As far as i know, theres no self exclusion enforcement, and unless the self exclusion flag is available via Torn's API theres no easy solution to effectively enforce it there as well, thus either a ban, staff verified odds (this means staff/vendor collaboration required, and a approval token/code system that lets vendors provide proof theyre in the clear) or a API requirement for self exclusion enforcement should be the three paths.
All yall seem to know how to do is argue about AI instead of touching grass and playing the damn game. If AI is that much of a temper indusing fury for you, find the Close Account button and cancel your internet
I recognize Shepherd’s Pie and Toad in the Hole! Now im hungry screw you lol
Aside from the fact that in game events can be rigged or manipulated or termed or whatever else behind discords Torn has no visibility into?
Absolutely idiot proof levels of simplicity. give API Key, Buy pillow, claim slots, smack, get paid. Will absolutely be back when in a pinch for cash
the official path is to go into your ssettings, hit Close Account, wait the full 14 days, login hit Delete Account, and only then can you restart. I had to do it before, so
oh i was referring to myself there not you-i tried chatting with them privately to try and get them on the right track
let em stay gone for as long as they want tbh. Reporting someone for harrassment and then continuing to be friendly with the person you reported is shitty behavior (yes they did exactly this to me-thankfully ti was just a verbal warn at Questionable severity but still)

this post will almost certainly make things worse for you. I would consider requesting this be graveyarded for your own sake
i mean inbred and racist kinda go hand in hand
If you’re worried about being too noob to be accepted, I have single digit working stats and I was accepted! Come on down!!
Fantastic post and one that i hope is useful to many, thanks Constellation!
i mean i did read it, that did TECHNICALLY solve the issue, but im a big fan of not spiking peoples anxiety unneccesarily, and colors can psychologically do exactly that

AI isnt going anywhere anytime soon, if youre gonna shit up GD with these things consider calling your ISP and disconnecting service, then touch grass
