Finish my story, win a Private Island! · · 31 likes

Hello All ~

Looking for some serious people who enjoy RP/writing (Write a response, and win a Private Island!)

Okay, basic rundown on rules:

* Write your submission by mail to me in response to my Role-Play below before December 17th, 2017. Subject line: "Finished your story."

* The winner will receive a free PI on Christmas day, or soon after. Second place and other honorable mentions will also receive free properties or prizes, so please take your time and make it the best you can. Winner of grand prize PI will be announced on this post once review and judgement of all entries have been tallied.

* Bonus to creativity, word choice, humor, detailed characters, staying within the world that I have generally described below. Etc. For example, don't create an airplane in a world that it doesn't exist, etc.

* It must be original, no copy/paste'ing from other sources. It must be your own work. (I will check)

* There is no length requirement as long as it isn't a book! :) Remember, I'm looking for Quality, not Quantity.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Below is my story. Finish it and send me your submission by mail with the subject, "Finished your story." Do not post your submission on this forum please.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The storm has violently arrived. Darkness falls with determination while cascading light rays shimmy down upon the fallen planet. The air thickens with mischievous intent. Rain batters down relentlessly without precarious aim in incoherent directions; some droplets nearly horizontal in the thrashing force of wind. It is cold, snow bites the ground as if in rebellion to the sunlight on the edge of the horizon, shimmering through the occasional gap in the abysmal dark clouds and the icy rain that turns to frosty ice when it hits the surface. "Light, have mercy.." Fae mumbles to himself under his breath as he takes another step forward in the unforgiving land of the blight. Exhaustion and freezing temperatures grasp at Fae's determination and focus to keep moving toward his ambiguous destination, somewhere lost in the back of his mind. As the icy rain pummels Fae's head and down into his undergarments, his cloak wraps around his body naturally almost as if it had its' own will. There is a camouflaging effect that makes him subtlety matching with his environmental surroundings except for his head and boots that which are not covered. At times, he nearly stands in the wind, looking like a mirage of invisibility, except to maybe an experienced scout. Many colors of the terrain and sky behind him can be seen in this mirage, if there was only a living soul in sight of him to see it. It has been some time, since he has come across anyone of the living type, except a few beastly human-like creatures he has run into so far who are out to devour, destroy and murder. Lightning strikes in the desolate and desperate distance... but exactly how far; Fae couldn't seem to tell. He judged perhaps less than a click based on the time for the sound to arrive to his numb ears. In any regard, it was too close to comfort. The hair stood up on his body, inappropriately allowing heat to leave his body in this frigid environment.

A beastly cry rages from somewhere nearby behind some isolated vegetation, almost like an island in the middle of nothingness. Fae swiftly and quietly draws out the familiar sword that was hidden on his back. It is doubtful anyone would even know it is there, until it is too late. His hand glistens in a sparkling array around the hilt as the rain and sunshine coagulate into a visible specter. The sword faces in front of him, however sure to be low enough to avoid detection. One can never been too safe, not in these lands. The blade has a few intricate designs of some animals on it, but more impressive is that it seems to shine radiance, despite suck darkness and cruelty around it. Pulling the sword from the scabbard so smoothly was like he had done it without thought as if it were a part of his body. Experience and practice is the obvious truth to the wise observer, but there are none. His eyes barely squint in the incoming wind, but that is the least of his worries according to his thoughts.

Upon reaching the precipice of the vegetation, Fae glances from side to side, then into the harrowing vegetation that attempts to hide what is behind. A beastly form, wretched with animal guttural sounds feasting on a human body. Visible horns on the head is enough to startle most battle hardened men, but the sounds and noises coming from this beastly form is all the more telling. It seems content with itself; hands bathing in the human blood with bodily organs being ripped or snapped out one moment after another. Most of it lands onto the ground nearby, but some into the mouth of this beast.

With appalling disgust, Fae performs the shadow lion attack without thought; sword dancing from position to precise destination while feet of grace take over his forward momentum. Blade cuts air with a whistle, meets spine, meets flesh, and the beastly figure topples over before it knew what had happened. "Light, why must this be so? Where are these creatures coming from?" Fae's solid eyes of sorrow glance up towards the hidden heavens above. Bitter, heart breaking silence seems to be the only answer in reply. After placing the sword back into the scabbard, he takes another glance around at his surroundings just to be sure there is no one else around. Just before leaving the tragic victimized evidence on the wasteland, something catches Fae's eye below him. There is hair underneath the mess of a body that is obviously out of place. A square ring with swords clashing together on it appears on Fae's right hand as he leans forward out of the cloak to address the situation below.

As the ravaged blood-covered corpse is overturned, Fae's eyes fall onto a young woman dressed in a blue dress detailed with intricate gold designs. Animals, unidentifiable writings and other unrecognizable gold leaf objects lace the dress divinely. It is quite a feat that she is still alive in this climate, and even more so that she doesnt appear to be shivering. She has somehow survived an unknown length of time underneath the poor unrecognizable victim that was on top of her. The landscape of the ground at this location worked in her favor to hide her. Whether the deceased body on top of her was on purpose, or accidental is unclear and remains sorted to resolution. "Hello Miss..." Fae's eyes dance over her as he takes her in and studies her privately. He continues, "My name is Fae, of the Dundoveer Region. Nice to see you are safe, the Light willing." After a short pause, he continues.. "I am on a mission, but that hardly seems relevant at this moment. What are you doing out here in the middle of..." His words drift off as he sees the outskirts of what appears to be a village off in the distance that he could have sworn was not there a moment before.

The mysterious woman eventually grabs his hand and is aided to her feet, reluctantly. Her blue eyes stand out beyond the bloodied blonde hair that covers her face. She attempts to gather herself by ruffling away some dirt and wrinkles from her dress, as if she were going to give a presentation in front of a large public audience. Her face blushes for a bitter moment, almost too quick to catch in a single breathe as she finally seems to take her situation into perspective and notices that her fate likely would have been different if she had not been rescued by the savior standing before her.

I look forward to it! =)

Ouija ·

Ouija boards do work. Just not most of the time. If you get a spirit to answer the "call" then you are taking your chances who is on the other side. Once that doorway is open, it can be hard to close, so be careful.

Either is fine, however go into as much detail/length within reason. I don't want to read 10 novels at the end of this thing. :) I'd prefer to see some effort, description, etc. I hint at this in my original post. Something about 0.5 to 5 times the length that I have written for everyone would be about right. Please let me know if you need me to be more specific with elaboration. Thank you.

I am actually considering this, but I will be unavailable to access the site or very limited for the next 3 weeks. I will be out of town on vacation. But when I get back this is something I will probably do.

Great question!!! I left it wide open for the competitors to submit whatever genre they would like to do.

Besides looking for a decent ending to the story, I am looking for humor, word choice, description and an overall performance of effort. It is completely subjective to my likes, so basically you're just making a guess as to what I am looking for. If I state now exactly what kind of genre I would like, then I am giving you an unfair advantage to those who have already submitted. I just recommend keeping as close as possible to the style I have provided and continuing on the story.

Lol, no. Nothing like that. Just enjoy writing and thought it would be interesting to see what other people come up with.
