Got my ten year merit! Double digits! I have learned in Torn that a moderate persistence is the key to success. I think it tells you about other things that you drop over the years that were good, only to pick back up. I have had too many years of inactivity here and there, and when I finally log back in I binge for about a month or two. So that is what I learned about how to play in life and the the game that is Torn. Maybe I will finally make my first billion?
What have you learned from Torn that relates to life and/or the game?

Quick trade on a PI, easy to deal with, would deal with again.
I agree. I have a really small position of AMC in my total portfolio. I bought to ride the pump and to support the possible short squeezes. I did not expect that multiple brokers, most notably Robinhood, would suspend buying right in the middle of a pump. They literally shut it down,
I like loss porn, but the amounts that some people bought on margin and kept doubling down on is down right brutal.

I'm long AMC.

OMG! I read your post and right after I called my ophthalmologist and told him the story. He said, "I have no idea what the hell you're talking about, but no paragraphs or indentation?" We scheduled an eye screening next Tuesday just in case of any permanent damage.
Please sir, I want some more

Responded quickly to my inquiry. Although my request was a smaller order, it was taken care of quickly after I sent the payment (done within an hour). Highly recommended.
In for the win
[background color=#ffffff]I still don't think blackjack in Torn is single deck because of the situation we both ran into with splitting AA's. Here is why:
The only proof I've seen is when the prompt reads "deck has been shuffled." With "deck" being singular I had always thought it was supposed to be single deck. When searching the forums I have only seen other players say it is single deck. I have never seen a clear cut post by Ched or staff that it is single deck. (If anyone has a link post it please)[/background]
[background color=#ffffff]
In any blackjack game (1 deck, 2 deck, 4 deck, and 6-8 being most common) the deck or decks are all shuffled together and placed in a shoe and dealt from that shoe or auto shuffling machine or whatever device the casino uses. The dealer doesn't pull out an additional deck when one splits a hand. So, seeing 5 or 6 aces during a split hand means there has to be more than one deck.
[background color=#ffffff]I wish it was single deck, because single deck paying 3:2 on blackjack with the dealer standing on 17 is one of the most advantageous games to the player (when the player is playing correct basic strategy). Of course the house still has a small edge unless you're card counting.[/background]

I'm not picking up what you're putting down. Are you saying that a new deck is used by the dealer for the split card?
So if I have AA( then I split) The first A is played with the original deck, and the second A is played with an additional deck?

I don't know when the update occurred or if there was one, but I noticed about 5-7 days ago the house seemed to have an increase in its edge. It has been obvious (to me at least, maybe more time is needed) that something changed. I have since gotten more conservative with my betting amounts to avoid too much variance, but I was always pretty conservative with it anyway.
As a player, I don't think I have gotten any worse hands recently, but the dealer has been hitting 19-21 very often, when he would normally bust more often. . . and there have been A LOT more pushes.
On a side note: I do not think that this game is single deck. I have seen this said in some posts before. I wish I had a screen shot to prove this but I don't.
About a few months ago, I was dealt AA against a dealer A. I split and was dealt another A for a total of 2 or 12. Then I hit and was dealt another A for 3 or 13.
Then, next hand with the split A I was dealt an additional A.
A total of 6 aces in one hand.
Obviously the game can't be single deck. With that information it is at least 2 decks or greater. Even before I had always assumed 6-8 decks for my basic strategy.
Not the most impressive numbers:

I think you nailed it. I did OD recently and I probably didn't realize my happiness was even down since then. Which is weird because I usually notice things like that.
Glad I didn't put in a bug report. Thanks for the responses everyone.
