Welcome to edition #13 of the Justice League Tournament!
Tournaments of this type often dis-incentivize players of low racing skill from participating, due to the prize pools overwhelmingly benefiting the people at the very top of the rankings. For the few expert racers out there such events pose a lucrative proposition, yet for most others - they are a waste of time. The Justice League Tournament aims to remedy that.
We have joined forces with several wonderful volunteers, in order to host a competition which gives many of its participants a fair chance to not walk away empty-handed. In doing so, we strive to help turn racing into a viable TORN career path. But we alone can't hope to fund the full prize pool of such a big tournament. That is why we are accepting donations of all forms, which you can send to Jairyll [2167612], Lightor [2215463], or myself.
Furthermore, as evidenced by the event we held last Autumn- during which we awarded over $19,100,000,000 TCD in prizes - 100% of your donations will go towards the JLT prize pool. Since the competition's inception in early 2020, we have awarded over $81b TCD. And lastly, unless you wish to remain anonymous, any donation you make will be highlighted in this forum thread and in our standings sheet.
BIG NEWS!
This is our second edition as an officially recognized TORN racing tournament! That means that we have the formal support of TORN's staff, which comes with a very generous contribution to our prize pool. Effective immediately and going forward, our Championship Week podium winners will be competing for a Stormatti Casteon (Bugatti Veyron), Echo S3 (Audi S3), Racing Trophies and the Champion honor bar, as well as some SEs. We still need your support, however, as this does not cover our entire prize pool and there are many more prizes that need dispensing.
IN THE DAYS BEFORE YOUR FIRST RACE, YOU WILL RECEIVE AN IN-GAME MESSAGE FROM YOUR DESIGNATED STEWARD WITH A LINK TO A DOCUMENT (RACEDOC), WHICH WILL CONTAIN THE DATES AND PASSWORDS FOR ALL OF YOUR QUALIFICATION RACES. BOOKMARK THIS DOCUMENT, AS YOU WILL DEPEND ON IT FOR THE ENTIRE TOURNAMENT!
There are two main stages: a Qualification Phase (QP), and a Championship Week (CW).
Every single race (QP & CW) will open for entry at ~12:00 TCT, and begin 10 hours later - at 22:00 TCT.
During QP, you will be placed into one of 7 leagues (0~6), depending on your class and Racing Skill.
Leagues with more than 80 racers will be divided into groups. (ex. L1-A, L1-B, L1-C)
Differences in the size of groups within the same league have no effect on anyone's competitiveness.
During QP, you will take part in one race per week. Each race will be 50 laps long.
During QP, LEAGUES WITH ONE GROUP, will host 6 regular races. After the 6th race, the points for all will be combined, and the people with the 3 highest scores in each league will progress to the CW.
During QP, LEAGUES WITH MULTIPLE GROUPS, will host 4 regular races, followed by 2 race-offs. After the 4th regular race, the people with the 5 highest point scores in each group will be pooled together into a new group, their points will be reset to 0, and they will race against each other twice. The people with the 3 highest scores after the two race-offs, will progress to the CW.
During CW, you will race once a day for 7 consecutive days. Each race will be 20 laps long. After the 7th race, the points for all will be tallied, and the person with the highest score will be pronounced Winner of the JLT.
This is not an elimination tournament! If you miss a race, you can still join the next one.
All stewards are allowed to compete, but only some of them can host groups in their own leagues. Others must host groups in leagues they don't belong to, which means their personal results do not affect those groups' standings.
If you cross the threshold of your league's RS bracket before your first race, you will be moved to the next appropriate league. If you cross it after your first race, you will remain in the league you started in.
If you are not Class A, but your RS is ≥ 15.00, you will be registered in whichever league your RS bracket puts you. (ex. C + 16 RS = League #2, E + 31 RS = League #3, etc.)
League #0 will only use E Class cars with NO modifications.
How many points you receive in each race, depends on how many people are in your league or group. For example, If L1-B has 50 people in it, the winner of an L1-B race will always get 50 points, the 2nd - 49, the 3rd - 48, etc, no matter how many of those 50 people actually show up for the race.
If you miss a race - you get 0 points.
If you crash, you will be given last place, and will receive the appropriate amount of points for it.
If there's more than one crash in the same race, the race completion percentage of each crashed racer will decide who takes the higher place.
Your points only matter in your own league and group.
If two or more people finish a phase with the exact same point score, we will compare their number of entered races (higher is better), number of crashes (lower is better), and total cumulative time (lower is better), in that order of importance.

For the few expert racers out there such events pose a lucrative proposition, yet for most others - they are a waste of time.
The Justice League Tournament aims to remedy that.
We have joined forces with several wonderful volunteers, to host a competition which gives all of its participants a fair chance of not walking away empty-handed. In doing so, we strive to help turn racing into a viable TORN career path.
But we alone can't hope to fund the full prize pool of a tournament of such scale, which is why we are accepting donations of all forms, which you can send either to Jairyll [2167612], or to Indolent [538161].
As evidenced by the event we held last Autumn - during which we awarded over $4,077,000,000 TCD in prizes - 100% of your donations will go towards the JLT prize pool.
Since JLT's inception in early 2020, we have handed out approximately $16,082,000,000 TCD worth of winnings.
Your donations will be highlighted in this forum thread and in our spreadsheet, unless of course, you wish your name to be omitted from the list.
PLEASE ONLY USE ONE! WE SEE EVERYBODY'S APPLICATIONS. THERE IS NO NEED TO REGISTER IN MORE THAN ONE PLACE.
(A) - Post in this forum thread (If we upvote your post, you are registered) (If you don't see an upvote on your post, check the first and last posts on that page. If they both have upvotes, everyone on that page has been registered)
(B) - Post in the registration channel of our Discord
The tourney is split into a Qualification Phase (QP), and a Championship Week (CW).
Every single race (both QP & CW) will open for entry at 12:00 TCT, and begin 10 hours later - at 22:00 TCT.
During QP, you will be placed into one of 7 leagues, depending on your class and Racing Skill (RS).
If you register as a League #0 racer, but cross over into Class A just before the start of the competition, you will be allowed to remain in League #0, as it would be unfair of us to pit you against racers with fully upgraded Class A cars.
If you register as a Class A racer, and cross the threshold of your league's RS bracket, you will be moved to the next appropriate league.
Leagues with more than 70 80 contestants, will be divided into groups via RNG (ex. L1-A, L1-B, L1-C). No resultant group will be larger than 70 80 contestants.
Due to the extraordinary number of applications received, we have extended the group maximum to 80 contestants.
One day before the competition begins, you will receive an in-game message from your designated steward with a link to a document (RaceDOC), which will contain the dates and passwords for all of your qualification races. Bookmark this document, as you will depend on it for the entire tournament!
During QP, you will race once a week for 7 weeks. Each race will be 50 laps long.
This is not an elimination-style tournament! If you miss a qualification race, you can still join the next one.
League #0 will use STOCK E CLASS CARS ONLY.
LEAGUES DIVIDED INTO GROUPS, will host 5 regular races, followed by 2 race-offs. After the 5th regular race, the people with the 5 highest point scores in each group will be pooled together into a new group, their points will be reset to 0, and they will race against each other twice. The people with the 3 highest scores after the two race-offs, will progress to the CW.
LEAGUES NOT DIVIDED INTO GROUPS, will host 7 regular races. After the 7th race, the points for all will be combined, and the people with the 3 highest scores in each league will progress to the CW.
During CW, you will race once a day for 7 days. Each race will be 20 laps long.
FOR CW QUALIFIERS, there will be 7 regular races. After the 7th race, the points for all will be combined, and the person with the highest score, will be pronounced Winner of the JLT.
Your points only matter in your own league or group.
If two or more people finish a phase with the exact same point score, we will compare their number of entered races, and total cumulative time, in that order of importance.
Thanks to a much-requested update which came last Autumn, we no longer need to see screenshots of your racing skill, as that is now a publicly-viewable stat we check ourselves.
Lugburz has kindly introduced an update to his Racing UI/UX Enhancements script, which will place a yellow flair like the one used for URT, next to each official JLT race.
It's 4 days for those who only clocked the newspaper article, 5 days for those observant enough to notice the consistanly trending forum thread or the official torn news ticker with a live countdown in it, and 7 days for those who are a part of the Pit Stop discord, who benefit from a two day head-start on signups.

Would it be possible to add a standalone TS stats update button on the gym page, which doesn't require the whole graph to be loaded? Perhaps just a clicky link next to City and Tutorial?
In my experience the page loads faster without the graph, but I have to keep it on as it's the only convenient way I know of to update my TS stats without going directly to the website. Element blockers don't work either, as they don't stop the graph from loading - they just hide it after it has loaded.
If we don't, there will be dozens of people who cross their rs threshold between signing up and racing for the first time.
On this edition, I've had to move at least 100 racers around from one league to another.
We check, double check and triple check according to the rule and move people, else we get a mountain of complaints that "my league is Xrs, but there's a guy in my race with Yrs".
I'm sorry that you think the rule shitty, but we have the interest of thousands of racers to take care of, and we can't please every single one of them.
We have received multiple reports of an individual by the name Chedbum [3298036], attempting to blackmail JLT racers who are close to exceeding their assigned league's RS requirements.
As a result, said player has been banned from this edition of the tournament. Such behaviour will not be tolerated.
If you receive any such message, please forward it to us, and whatever you choose to do in response - DO NOT PAY them! You will be wasting your money.
In light of the (fairly) recent changes to the Racing Skill gain rates, we have decided to extend the upper RS limit for League 0 from 10 to 15. This limit was initially set as a response to the L0 domination of a very small handful of sub A-class players who had very high RS. Nowadays, having over 10 RS without being A class is noticeably easier, therefore a change had to be made.
