I reset my merits (1,500 points) to get 10EE and joined his rig at 3.3m daily. I imagine he did the calculations on my stats and effectiveness and saw I was a good fit.
The first red flag? He set my pay to 2.5m... His reason? Because the first job day had not ticked over yet, so they EE merits weren't showing.... I sent him logs and proof of my 10EE merits but insisted on paying me 2.5m for the first day and 3.3m thereafter....
Ok, fine. Bit odd, but I can survive without the 800k. I was beginning to understand how his NW was so high though!
10 days in the comp, and just been fired (replaced instantly...). No notice. Was just told I wasn't a good fit, despite having 130 max effectiveness as Roughneck. r3d_dragun stated that we had to keep efficiency above 100 in order to receive pay. My efficiency was around 120 at the point of firing. There were also at least another handful of roughnecks at 130 max effectiveness also.... On top of that, the company made 140m on the previous days, not far off maximum income for an oil rig. I was clearly not causing any problems.
I'm sure shit like this goes on all the time. I'm not new to the game. However this debacle shocked me considerably given him and his rig are fairly established. His actions leave a lot to be desired so I figured it's best to make this known so others don't face the same issues.
I've asked to be repaid the 50m I spent on the merits reset otherwise this forum post goes live at 23:00 TCT. If you're seeing this, I guess he coerced me out of 50.8m :(
Ok sick of this side quest so here's the transcript for everyone to judge.
The offer of 500k is surprisingly low - even for my stats. My suggestion of 2.5m was not unreasonable and certainly does not 'rob' directors in oil rigs, but because they thought it was, it led me to a very natural conclusion that they were taking too much pay as a director / not paying employees enough. What ensued was simply a discussion with me trying to offer some insight that they can either take or leave. Again, stop trying to create beef where there is none.

Because of staff retention? Otherwise you should be getting a lot more. Sounds like paying more would help you keep staff. I've been negotiating with over 30 oil rigs these past 24 hrs, your offer is lowest by a country mile. Just thought that insight might help

250k total stats. I wasn't below base effectiveness, I was 130 with Settled in and EE. I was 119 when fired, and was aiming to be rehabbing every 2-3 days, certainly staying above 110. I was never given a chance. :)
As previously said, company made record earnings during my time. There is no evidence I was having any negative impact on the company, he simply wanted to replace me with a higher stat.
Your spouse approached me, offered pay low comparable to other companies and I was haggling. 😂 I did the same with about 20 other oil rigs. You're trying to find drama where there is none.

I don't know where you get 97 from, my max effectiveness was 130 and you told me to keep it above 100 otherwise pay would stop, assuming impending dismissal.
You knew EXACTLY how effective I would be, and you chose to hire me knowing full well SOME of my effectiveness would be used up by addiction. I have NEVER let addiction affect my jobs in torn and always work with directors. How do you think I survived over a year in a 10* candle prior?? When I rehab it would have reverted to 130 and then begun to drop again. Oil companies do not require such strict drug usage unlike farms etc. You gave me no opportunity to prove myself. Was I just supposed to not use drugs at all? You didn't mention that!

Quit making excuses for yourself. You saw an opportunity to instantly replace me with a higher stat player, 10 days into my job, after a full merit reset, and I had done nothing wrong to deserve it. It's called a dick move and many here concur.
People expect better from top players and companies and it's wonderful to have been approached by my (now-new) job director, paying me a lot more than you did (from the first day too!) offering a friendly, positive company environment and his commitment to not be a shitbag like you. Pretty chuffed!
