Wednesday at noon TCT (tomorrow), an update to stock price behavior will go live. Short-term volatility will be somewhat reduced. The direction of price movements will be unchanged, but the magnitude of changes will lessened.
More specifically, this update aims to reduce very-short-term rebounding of stock prices, a phenomenon on our stock market engine we've been monitoring for some time. This works both ways; a spike in price will not "rebound" down as easily. Mid-and long-term trends will be largely unaffected.
On a more minor note, the TCSE was about $60 higher than the sum of all stock prices. This will be fixed with this update.
The flatline will not persist. Volatility will return over a few days.
It is hard to see right now, but there will absolutely still be plenty of opportunity to trade and make money from this system. Trust us that we want this to stay fun and rewarding. We expect it to continue to generate trillions in profit a year from traders.
Walking around Big Al's, you notice there's very little foot traffic around the wearables aisle. The cameras aren't working today and they don't cover this area well anyway.
You snatch up a pair of leather gloves and push them in your pockets.
