Slightly peeved that after 10 years of playing a game, you can lose your name after 90 days.
So in the time it takes your bank account to mature, you've lost something that took 10 years to make.
Doesn't matter if you've got a personal life issue, deployed overseas protecting your countries interests, doesn't matter, it's gone.
So clearly something this important, would merit an announcement, you'd get a warning email, notice that it's happened.

Now I understand that inactive players need removing.
But why isn't there a clearly stated policy.
30 days - xxx happens. 90 days - xxx happens 180 days xxx happens. 365 days - Account deleted, DP's etc refunded.
So should the system just be able to remove items, no notice, no warning no announcement, or should things have been set up more thoughtfully in the first place.
I mean why do we have emails associated with our accounts, if the system doesn't use it to notify us of important events.

Implied argument? Nope it's simple if the game wants to do something it should be clear about doing it. So if I get a 5 star lawyer card, and I can suddenly take your name, how would you feel about it? Oh look, feature no one knew about...
To be clear, I was a donator still whilst the name was removed, so paying isn't the answer.
What are staff to do, simple, make it clear what happens on what day.
Plus email people - no access to game doesn't mean as others have said, no access to email.
Are names forever?
For some games they are, some not, but almost every other game has a policy and a warning system, torn doesn't.
I would consider it fair if people lost their accounts after 30 days of inactivity, as long as it was clearly stated and there were email warnings. I'd consider it harsh, and probably too short, but it would be fair, as long as everyone knew about it, and you could find it documented.
Nope, I just lost my Name. However I can get anything else back. Money to muggings, I can make back. Name I can't.
This is just about warnings, or making it clear what happens when. I never knew I could lose my name. Everything else, faction transfer is fine, muggings, well that's part of the game.

B-W [1009930]If new players are not emotionally stable enough to handle some banter & ridicule in an online game. Chances are they wouldn't have stuck around for 1 reason or another anyways. Please keep in mind this game is advertised as a dark murky underworld. Or at least it was. If you want sunshine & lollypops, you mite as well get a candycrush app like the rest of the sissy's.
I'm not sure that was the purpose of Styxseses (Styx's?) post. New guy's who post, very often get flamed to feck, a bit of understanding isn't too much to ask. Don't forget, they are our future :)
No new guys, who don't read the forums for a while, BEFORE posting, get flamed. That would be the same as any game. If clueless newbies are our future, then may your choice of sky fairy protect us all...
If new players can't cope with the forums the way that they are, they are hardly going to cope with the game, when they upset someone and find themselves bountied for a while. We have forum mods, and forum rules, I suggest Styx, if you want a head boy badge, you go print yourself one out.
