I’m in my iPhone and my chat platform has suddenly stopped working correctly. I cannot open new chat boxes with individuals and my faction chat will not alert me when there is a new message posted.

It started yesterday when they asked me in the faction room if I had messages turned off, which I did not. It lasted about an hour or two then seemed to resolve itself last night. But it started again today.
I since tried to open a new private chat with someone else and the window would not open. Nothing happened. I have not accessed the game on a different device since yesterday afternoon.
The faction chat also is not alerting me to new messages and this started suddenly last night when these other issues occurred. How would I clear cache on an iPhone?
